I doubt if anyone does they aint going to admit to it on a Public Forum...

:ninja:

Why does this matter ??

My mate did it, his polo was lowered on wheels etc... then had a crash and spent all night taking all the modifications off (with his battery leaking all over the place) The assessor (sp) came round the next morning took one look and said and i quote 'Thats fucked'

All in all mate its really not worth it, you'll lose everything if you dont insure it properly.

What is the point of insuring it at all if the insurance is invalid? save yourself some money - same result.

I may have forgot to mention my old mk3 was slammed to the ground..they came round to look at it after a crash and didnt even realise it was lowered

Mines lowered but with in restrictions i believe so i just say i had to change them due to rust :)

Me, :p

Its down as a standard 1L mk3 coupe.

Its a 1.3, cammed, induction, chip, mani, exhaust, wheels, suspension, interior, brakes... loadssss of stuff tbh!

BAsically foooked if out happens.

if your modifying a car and the modifications affect the engine suspension etc etc what ever it is you should correctly inform your insurance its doubtful except for engine mods if they will increase your premiums but one thing that is for sure if the police pull yer and your insurance dont match up to whats under that bonnet your in for a fine and 6 points for no insurance as your insurance will be null and void aprt from this if your modifying then you should be considering agreed valuations for what it costs it insures everything in case of a total loss

stuff like exhausts and lowerd the police dont bother about if u had a 1.3 and its down as a 1L then u will be fucked but as for other mods such as exhausts, susspension, alloys, the police dont check that as its s**t loads of paper work for them at the end, and if u do have an accident you should be oryt as long as you dont claim on insurance :)

i wanted to know this too caus iv had my license revoked for no insurance not as bad as it sounds,

i had my car in a mates garage over christmas for overhauling, during this time it wasnt insured

i took it half a mile down the road for mot and tracking (three quaters of a mile away) and well now i dont have a licence at

the mo. but this has given me time to mod it some more till i take my test again.

it is now lowered, gt cam ported polished rebuilt head, twin 40's, stainless manifold 4 2 1, polybushed, upper and lower strutbrace and a refurbed set of wiiiiiiiiide ats classics

so do you think the po po will notice ny of this?

or should i claim my mods on insurance

just leave it mate I'm not going to tell them, as soon as you tell them you will just get insurance bummed lol so just dont say nout and if you crash dont claim, repair it your self :) the only way i think you can really get caught is if you claim because the insurance company will come round to take your car away for inspection but as long as u dont claim u will be fine :). and as for the police if they pull u and do more than a normal insurance check if they do decide to check you for mods asswell then your extreamly unlucky as they hardly ever check mods :)

keep it top secret then shhhh, iv been pulled 20 30 times in my golf and my polo they fucking piss me off meanwhile some granny is getting a bashing c***s! if he wasnt dead moats for priminister

Its just not worth not declaring all your mods these days, if you crash into someone write off both cars your insurance will be void, therefore you will foot the bill and get a hefty fine from the police! If i got hit by someone who had invalid insurance I would be well pissed and take them for all they have got!!!

sounds like you should be a patronizing officer of the law go on sit the exame it shouldnt be hard because:-

People Of Limited Inteligence Can Enroll

We get threads like this several times a week, so I'm locking this.

If you don't declare you mods, and drive uninsured be prepared to accept the consequences - you are after all breaking the law.
