but a car doesnt have to have a complete subframe to be a rat rod, the main concept is that a rat has solid reliable mechanics and is usually a good tough ride so that the outside is a complete contrast to its function, i say paint it what you want but a true rat would fail an mot on seals and should only patch it plate and leave it instead of matching it in.
