Hi guys,

Used the search function but to no avail.

I'm not a chav, just wiring one hyper bright led to each side of my bumper as daylight running lights. Saw a guy go it on his a3, looked so modern and profesisonal.

I have purchased two high quality LEDS, with resistors for a 12v circuit. I have conencted the resistors so all I need to do now is wire the leds to the sidelights.

I have spent days looking for a good guide but none exist.

How do i actually do this? What wires do i locate and cut. How do i Split the wires and where dop i connect the pos/neg from the leds.

Any help would be great.

i've done similar on my 6n2.

you'll need to cut the wires to your sidelights and try them one way, if it doesn't light up, switch the wires. on mine, iirc, the brown was ground.

Repeat for the other side.

So i splice into the wires behind my sidelight? (Which i presume is also the headlight bit e.t.c.)

Won't halfind the wire to the sidelight make it dimmer? (and likewise to my leds?)

Yes, just tap into the sidelight wires, make sure the polarity is correct I.e. Positive to positive and vice versa.

Also, it won't make the side lights any dimmer as LEDs only use a tiny amount of power (iirc, less than 0.25 amp in total) you'd need a lot all wired next to each other (negative of one to the positive of the next) for you to notice any dip in the brightness of your sidelights.

You wire them in parallel, that is + to + and - to - so both lamps draw the current that they need, if you were to wire them in series + of one to- of the other, then your side lights would not work, but if you then took out the side light bulb, neither would your LED.
