Engine up to 100 cc for Mobility Scooter

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am after an engine for a mobility scooter, engine can be from anything really, as long as it can power a scooter and a person.

50 cc - 100 cc preferable!

Preferably over 15 MPH with scooter and person.

Any advice on how to build as well would be useful, as it would be a first for me, adding an engine to a mobility scooter!

Your the one who has done it in the past right?!

What kind of engine did you use? Do you still have it working?

I have a Rotax 100cc Race tuned Go-Kart engine :) but got a centrifugal clutch so will have to bump start every time lol....

Did about 80mph in my Go-Kart lol.

Just an idea :)

LETHAL! Are you up for selling it?! Is it the kind of engine that could be modified to fit a mobility scooter?!

Lol yeah I dont see why not, bare in mind they go for around £100-150 on the Bay.

Well would be a lot of welding and custom work lol, I have almost finished putting it in my Mini Moto quad lol, just need an axle.

Just get a go ped or moped engine mate that will be plenty. The more power you have the more bruises you will get and besides it looked funny as slow as it was lol

Nice, I was thinking a chainsaw enigne may do the trick...a lot cheaper and easier to fit...

Its super Slow at the mo...wouldnt mind keeping the motor as well, then having a 50cc engine to surpise people...one minute all slow the next, super fast!

Anyone know if a 50cc Chainsaw engine would work? It looked easy enough to modify and not too hard to fit...

The gopeds are pretty expensive, but would fit nicely I reckon...How about a mini moto engine or Moped engine...

I could leave the wheel on it, and mount it on the back, extend the controls...
