REVOKED LICENSE :(

Featured Replies

Hideously I got caught coasting down a hill on my pitbike last week, the police have issued me with 6 points a £200 fine & are crushing my bike... (which i had brought the same week, along with a tonne of new motox clothing)

So being in the first year of driving, I will have my license revoked....

A long shot I know but just wondering if anyone knows if theres anything I can do about this?

been told if i appeal it at court then they will fukk me over a treat?

Any law students out there?

lol

SHIT WEEK OR WHAT :(

do the crime do the time.

you could try pleading that you need your driving licence for work. for such an offence you might get lucky (well of sorts, as they will slap you with with something like a hefty fine and give you 5 points instead)

you wont get the bike back though

what exactly was the offence?

By the looks of it, it's either No Insurance / Tax / MOT or Driving other than accordance with your licence (I.e. No CBT for bikes)

Driving an offroad bike on the road without propper insurance most likely!

You probably guessed but my knowledge of bikes is 0

so i didn't know it was an off-road one.

Surely they can't touch your car driving lisence for riding a motorbike?! What would they do if you didn't have one? Fine you and take the bike? The no insurance bit could get abit sticky in today's society! Even bigger fines and punishments

Its the same licence its just says on the back you can ride a bike. And if you don't have one they create one for you and put the points on that. So if you ever did apply for one then they are there waiting for you!

Daft as it sounds, if you get pulled for being drunk on a push bike, they'll take your licence if you have one!

Get in touch with a firm of soliciters. One that deal with this sort of thing.

Explain your case and see if they will take it on. If they think they can help you keep your licence then paying the fee's will be a lot better than losing your licence. As said if you need the car for work, and if the offence was non speed/dangerous/drink driving related they may be sympathetic.

Do it as soon as you can or you might miss your window to appeal.

Quick OT:

I'm certain this isn't true - I thought they could only do you for "riding under the influence of alcohol" or similar.

You are not required to do the breathiliser if on a pedal cycle, nor can they put points on your license.

REALLY! Wow, never knew that...maybe that is the worst thing they can do, but I think coppers would normally give you a slap on the wrist surely...

Its not true, you cant get points on your licence from push bike offences. They do in some US states but not in the UK.

Have spoken to a few solicitors now & am getting the same general opinion, which is..... I'm SCREWWWED lol

Aparently i have come off 'lightly' :S If i go to court I could face a 5,000 fine and 8 points.... LMFAO!

So looks like I'm taking the 6 points and re doin me test lol...

have managed to blag a few extra weeks driving tho cos I've said I've lost my counter part liscence and i need to apply for a new one before i can have any points endorsed...

I no that technically i was driving with no insurance, but i feel that for rolling down the hill on a pit bike and getting this punishment is a F**king joke & the scum should be catching real criminals...

- & to think i once wanted to be a copper...

- RANT OVER :D

P.S POLO IS FOR SALE LOL

do your self a favour now and qiut whilst your ahead matey you must have known you should have been riding an off road bike on the road full stop also just a lil bit of advice its up to you if you take it when the courts endorse someones licence the dvla are informed imediatly if you get caught drivng now on a revoked licence thats the same as driving on a ban in your case you,ll poss be spending time behind bars the computer systems in this country are that complex they will be able to pull up details of your revoked licence within 24hrs of you being banned did you know it takes 8 seconds for a police camera to read anumber plate and tell the police in the car wether you have tax /insurance think about that you drive past them and 8 secs later they are in a position to nick you end of keep yer ead down bro and do the time and wait to get yer licence back its much better allround

I had an RS125 that i worked on for a while and while it was uninsured i rolled it on the path outside my house to check a few things (not using the path as a dragstrip!!) We all do these minor things and i think its wrong that they should take your car licence off you.

If you take it to court you could get fucked even more by the long arm of the law and take a heftier penalty.

Orrr as mentioned above..... Take it to court and plead that you need your licence for driving to work (bus routes arent efficent/available). or that you have an elderly grandparent that relies on you to take her places most days. I dont know how that latter example would stand in court but its definatly worth looking into.

I've got 3 points currently and i have a month left until i have had my licence 2 years! i need to stay squeeky clean!

tbh kids ragging it around on pitbike are scum.

not saying your one of the little scrotes who ducks and dives through path ways but they realy piss me off.

you shouldn't be on the road with a pitbike you know the risk you took it and got caught.

shame about the bike tho :crybaby:

yeah... do the crime do the time... You wouldn't drive your car with no insurance/license!

yeah... do the crime do the time... You wouldn't drive your car with no insurance/license!

or would he... :ninja:

Then he crashes into the back of one of us with proper insurance, and we're left to deal with it ourselves. Brilliant!! In my opinion, not worth the risk...

when i didnt have a proper car license just started my lessons i was rolling around the corner of my street when the pikys had kicked off about 10mins before, so there was cops everywere, i was just sat on the side of the bike both legs dangling off the side and pushing with one leg (you can imagine how slow that would have been) and i went round the corner and the local cop was there, he made me walk with the bike other wise he would crush it, and i was barely on the bike, made me walk with it! i didnt really see why as it wasnt running, they really dont take any fucking about with bikes these days tho! that was about 5 years ago now so id imagine theyve got alot tighter on this,

sucks to be you tho mate! maybe they might let you drive 50cc moped or summit? worth a try! just say you HAVE to get to work other wise youll be another one on the doll

hope it all works out tho dude!

which is why if youre fucking about on bikes that arent road legal, you dont stop. youre basically riding a BMX with an engine. not saying I'm condoning it, but fuck me use some logic.

well done. makes no sense what so ever.

you was riding a bike without insurance, you are a real criminal. they caught you :D haa hahaha :-D

serves you right. i hope you grow up before you get your license back again

goto court and plead your innocence, say you need it for work and if they ban you then you will loose youre home as you have to pay rent else you are out, at worst you still get a 6 month ban(they wont give you any more) or they might just make you retake your test wich is more likely, or if youre really lucky they will tell you you can keep the license but you get caught doing one more thing then you are deff banned.

dont listen to anyone that says you will get screwed over if you goto court cos that is absoloute crap. I've been there and done it a few times in my youth and i promise you they dont give you anything extra if it goes to court apart from court costs wich are usually 60 quid.

my advice is goto court, tell them you need the car to get to work to pay your rent, you work weird shifts so you cant get the bus or train. tell them you are really sorry you know youre a dick etc and plead with them to only revoke the license rather than ban you as you could retake it within a few months.

as far as i know they usually just take the license of you rather than ban you and make you resit the test. it does say somewhere on your license.

The Licensing Act 1872 makes it an offence to be drunk in charge of a bicycle (or any other vehicle or carriage) on a highway or in a public place.

Magistrates can hand down a 1 month prison sentence and a £200 fine.

It is an offence to ride a bicycle whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

Magistrates can set a maximum fine of £1000.
