REVOKED LICENSE :(

Featured Replies

Daft as it sounds, if you get pulled for being drunk on a push bike, they'll take your licence if you have one!

to make it clearer the law defines it as being over the prescribed limit or in charge of a mechanically propelled vehicle whilst unfit through drink or drugs

Quick OT:

I'm certain this isn't true - I thought they could only do you for "riding under the influence of alcohol" or similar.

You are not required to do the breathiliser if on a pedal cycle, nor can they put points on your license.

The Licensing Act 1872 makes it an offence to be drunk in charge of a bicycle (or any other vehicle or carriage) on a highway or in a public place.

Magistrates can hand down a 1 month prison sentence and a £200 fine.

It is an offence to ride a bicycle whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

Magistrates can set a maximum fine of £1000.

like i previously stated a push bike is classed as a mechanically proppelled form of transport of which falls under the transport laws of which being over the limit applies i should know I've stupidly lost my licence 3 times on bikes now i'm into cars almost 2 years with not 1 point

thats scary i was drunk lots of times when i was younger and rode home on my push bike, but I've been stopped countless times by the fuzz and never once have they asked if i have a liscence and i was watching roadwars and someone was pissed up on a bike and he fell in a bush they just got him out and called his wife to come fetch him?

maybe the laws have changed since 1872?

and to the main point you were driving without insurance, harsh as it may be to loose your liscence if little dora the explorer jumped out and you run her over mate things would get messy,

some little prick was driving at the side of me on some crosser on the path in a 50 down the a5 not even looking where he was going he was staring at me to race him i just laughed, not saying your one of them but to the police they could think your one of them dangerous lads ragging it down pathways at 50 there just doing there job
