If you claim though, you will not have to pay anything? If someone hits you from behind they automatically accept liability, unless the Police or another party say otherwise.

aha no worries bro, i thought you said it has structural damage?

  • Author

it does, but it may be correctable as it doesn't look massively serious. If the shit hits the fan, i'll sling you a pm ;)

oh right, good luck with it mate!

so, got up early yesterday to try and sort out the back end, was just planning on spending a couple of hours on it and straightening things up.

however, i spent a bit longer than planned on it than i planned and left work at half four with my car all straight and painted. unfortunately i have no pictures of the actual work that was being done as me and a mate were running round trying to get it done.

could do with a quick flat and polish but y'know

looking good man, soo clean. Needs lows bad though hahaha

  • Author

Cheers slim, yeahh lows are on the way but I'm going for the HnR kits and when you're only earning £2.60 an hour it takes a little while to save nearly £500  it will happen soon though!

wow £2.60 an hour, apprentice wages suck ass don't they. I was on £2.49 back then.

changed my mind about selling it for the time being, i'm justy gonna make it better. so over the past fortnight i've been collecting bits for it.

i made another trip to see dave in chandlers ford yesterday to pick up a front strut brace, and ended up spending much more than expected. but i don't mind as its all upgrades and all of his stuff gets "the full treatment", everything he has is polished, powdercoated, painted or prep'd ready for one or the other.

so i ended up coming back with a strut brace, 5 speed ARB with g-lader blocks, 8P 5 speed box and a VW2 brake setup with scirocco carriers.

even the arm off the gearbox (can't remember the proper name) has been powdercoated, tidy stuff!

i've also bought a S/S manifold, Gt mid section and G40 backbox. i know its not gonna make a huge difference on the standard 1043, but it might mean the noise it makes is slightly less high pitched and screamy

i have also ordered a 80'60 kit off philj, just waiting for that to come now...

hoping to get it all done for poloshow, but it all depends on money and time, niether of which i seem to have alot of lately

Looks like I'll be making another trip to chandlers ford next weekend. Dave has just sent me a text to say he has cleared out one of his garages and found a complete G40 interior he been storing away. Win!

what're wheels you putting it on when you lower it? don't think the cups will fit when it's lowered

The atiwes I polished up a couple of pages back, they're 13x7

managed to get my interior all stripped out today ready to chuck the G40 interior in tomorrow morning. also gave it a decent wash, but sod law, it started chucking down ten minutes later so no pictures as of yet....

also planning on chucking the 5 speed box on sunday morning so shall chuck up another update with a few pictures sunday evening. it finally seems to be going somewhere, just need my lowering kit to come... oh and a GT lump for it now ;)

Nice work y0!

If you need a hand fitting anything gimme a text!

  • Author

Cheers man, will do!

Me and Lee went up in his B3 to pick up my interior and a few other bits today so that's all fitted! Definitly doing the 5 speed conversion tomorrow so I'm pretty happy wit the way things are going right now :)

Just want my springs and shocks so I can drop it on the atiwes before polo show, but it's not looking likely.

cheers bud!

completely forgot i had this thread tbh!

since i last updated this properly, i have fitted a g40 interior, 5 speed gear box, lowered and spaced out the atiwes and fitted a front brace G-lader blocks, which went on supprisingly easily considering how much people moan about them

when i first lowered it i couldnt get the rear struts out so was running some mega rake at first

seriousrake.jpg

i then managed to sort it out and got it sitting like this

IMG_1089_crop.jpg

then fitted the g lader blocks, using a widow maker. all fun and games :ninja:

which then got it sitting like this. went for a quick "shoot" with starface on here and he took a few pictures, here's one of them
