good show old boy, looks the business, haven't seen it since you done the stuff to it!

Looks beaut dude, gutted about the bearing. Although that could of been a lot worse.

Bad times dude :( I broke down twice on the way there yesterday, but luckily i managed to just about make it! Guess we'll see you at springfest then?

Cheers guys! Hahaa yeahh, guess I'll be seeing you at south coast at the end of the month miles, you can have a little look at a few bits I've done!

Atleast I'm the only one, wish I could say I managed to make it though! Yeahh I'll be at springfest and try and get to as much as I can next year! You still owe me a passenger ride down the strip aswell dude!

Got a pair of wheel bearings today, might aswell do both sides so considering pulling a sicky to get them done tomorrow

Fixed the polo today as I was fed up of riding twelve miles to work in the freezing cold!

It would seem I over tightened the hub nut after fitting axle spacers, the ironic thing is I decided to fit stub axle ones so I wouldn't put strain on the bearings, fml

So the bearing got so hot, it welded itself to the stub axle! Never seen such a shagged bearing in my life!

In the end I had to cut the stub axle and buy a new one!

It's all good now and back on the road! Hopefully get a few new pictures soon!

Thanks man, glad its finally getting noticed! Wish it was a G though :(

Well this weekend I decided I'd had enough of my exhaust falling off at every bump and grounding out on every lump so decided I was going to re design the hangers and chop and twist the pipe so it sat a bit higher under the car.

b34a00f1.jpg

When I took the exhaust off I was greeted by a whole load of squashed pipe full of tiny pinholes, here's one of the worst bits I cut out

d88608d0.jpg

So went in the hunt for some new pipe, which was a nightmare, I till I found the centre section off what I think was a Peugeot 206, was near enough exactly the same shape as the g40 back box pipe but decided I would just use section from it and cut and tuck it so it didn't hang like a bulldogs bollocks! Don't have pictures just now but will get some next time the car is in the air!

I then used some 10mm bar and some new rubbers to fab' up some new hangers as the other ones were awful!

If anyone knows what the exhaust off a new mini is like, I used a similar design welding bar to the back box and then some other bar onto the original exhaust mounting place and the chassis rail, anyway I'm crap at explaining so here's a few pictures!

Definitly worth doing, it sits alot better and isn't coming off any time soon, just need to get all the bare metal and welds painted now before they start rotting!

Started hoarding parts again. Got my GT parts off Toby this weekend thanks to a family member "passing by" in a van, saved me the 360 mile round trip!

So got a 3F block, and most of te other bits needed for the conversion minus the head, but then got an MH head off a guy local to me and I'm just gonna block off the port for the mech' fuel pump like maxmax has done on his. First thing is to clean its all up as its a bit dirty, then it's time to get rebuilding! However there is no rush as I can't actually insure it until February so yeahh.....

Also got a few other bits coming my way soon, a few essentials and other bits just because I can, but updates will come as I get them.

Few more new bits to add to the list, on the way to college on Monday I stopped off in Taunton to pick this up

Then on the way home from work I picked these up off a mate as his rocco had been written off, looks like I'll just have to do a coilover conversion, what a shame :ninja:

Will be going to get a shit load of engine degreaser and maybe a few gaskets and other engine parts tomorrow!

Still think you should polish that cam cover rather than paint it! shame i could never be bothered to polish it my self

Flat black with the raised bits polished would look dappa!

As some of you may have seen the polo is going this weekend and I'm swapping it for a mini. Getting your first car ready to go to a new home is a killer but on to better things, I'm sure I'll buy another one soon enough though.

Here's a quick snap of the polo's replacement taken from te current owners build thread for anyone interested!

Super awesome, and what a swap. I'd kill for a mini, if only you could put a towbar on one.

Anyway, best of luck sir, be on your way
