My boyfriend was wondering what your opinion was on a 128k golf.. he wants to know if the milage is too high for what it is?

I wouldnt buy one... Regardless of the mileage lol...

you can't decide whether or not to buy a car purely based on mileage alone. It all depends on how it's been looked after. A mk4 golf with 128k on it that has been well looked after is a much better buy than one with 50k on the clock that's just been used and abused.

you have to factor all of them before putting a car down as said id rather have a well looked after high mileage car then a used and abused low mileage car

Mileage is not something to get worked up about, my bro's Mk2 Golf 16v had 52k on it when he bought it, it lasted till 58k, it now has the engine out of his first Mk2 16v which is about 236k and running much better. That engine had service history from new and had pages added to the service book due to its mileage, the one on 52k had some old MOT's and that was it.

To be fair, it doesn't matter what age of golf it is, it matters about how the engine has been cared for through it's life.

It also depends on how much it is, what engine and service history.

My Mk2 Golf 16v is just about to clock over 140k, and it's had nothing but a spanking from me in the last 4 months. 10k miles I've done and all it's needed is pair of shocks, brake discs/pads and a caliper, which are age related rather than mileage really.
