to fit these wheels you need to use pcd adaptors, converts the stud pattern and you can get them in different widths to give that "poke" effect!

dont waste money on adapters just drill them

Well, I've read about adapters and that but the widest I've seen is 30mm, where the wheel it self is 6j, which I dnt think would give the poke effect us above? What about spacers? What sizes can I get them in? Any ideas?

Theres a guy on her with a 9n3, granted it fits direct to the stud patern and its not the smae car but he has 50m spacers on the back and that gets them right up against the body work.

Pepperpots are quite skinny as I've just put mine on, and you'd be suprised how much 30 mm will change the looks. I'm sure if you wanted you could get any size spacers you want but I've heard the wider you go the more strain is put on the wheel bearings.

Its not the width of the wheels that gives them the poke m,atey, its the et. The et of these is 38 i believe, so with an adapter of 30mm this would bring the et down to et 8 which will give the desired poked effect that your after on a 6n2. There is no point going 50mm as the et will drop far too low and you will need some major arch work to get them to fit. Bear in mind, dont go by a 9n3 or 9n or any other shape than a 6n or 6n2 as the arches on later models are wider which allow for bigger wheels to be fitted, or in the case of these peperpots you will need wider spacers/adapters to fill the arch with a skinnier wheel.

Imo just have a look on the forum through the 6n2 gallery and have a hunt down for a 6n2 with a 15x6 wheel with an et of around 8. This will give you an idea of how your car will sit with 30mm pcd adapters.

I want to achieve the same poke effect as the polo above. I'll look through the gallery and try to find out. And by the way, I drive 6n, not 6n2. I think that does make a slight difference, doesn't it?

Not really as it's pretty much same car! I have 5.5j et 45 rims on mine with 20mm spacers and there almost flush with the body so Id imagine the extras would take them to where u want!

So for instance If I put them on my 6n the extra 10mm (from the 30mm spacers) and the extra 7mm (difference between et45 and et 38) so 17mm would make them stick out a fair bit!

Then you have to take into account that there 6j not 5.5j Id probably end up having exactly that above look!

Sit the wheel flush on the hub get a mate to hold it there, as if it was bolted on then crack the tape measure out, and measure the distance between the front of the wheel and where you would like it to sit. Bit of a pikey way of doing things but it works.

And above, he aint got anymore than a 30mm spacer, lad on so-wal, a local dub club to me has pepperpots on his 6n2 and hes got 25mm spacers on and there sitting fludh with the wheel arch, so 30mm will be about right.

:EDIT: one thing to consider if wanting bigger spacers than 30mm is the strain then put on the hub and the bearings mate, aside from that they dont make larger than 30mm off the shelf i believe so it will be a custom joby which you looking a far old wod of cash then.

Mhm, it's all assumptions, need to speak to someone who have done it just to make sure. But from the above I think the 30mm is just what I want to achieve. I'm gonna look through the gallery now and I'll let you all know. :)

£20 notes a set???????? I highly doubt that as the metal used to make them would be worth more than that.......thats unless they were made out of recycled beans tins or something!!!!

But i just told you, a geezer i know has pepperpots on his 6n2, with 25mm adapters and its sitting just off the 6n2 above. Now i know its a 6n2 and yours is a 6n, but the 6n has practicaly the same arch space.

I've got a 6n on pepperpots with 20 mm adapters if i can find my camera later on i will get some pics up

the only problem with mine is I'm running 195/50/15 tyres so cant really go that low as the side wall of the tyre

front and back are always scrubbing the arch even over a tiny bump

i think possibly 25 mm would do the trick. :-)

Epic fail...

I bought the wheels and adapters together from somebody so sorry I don't know the origin.

I never had any problems with the adapters myself but I'm sure at 45mm a side they would have put abnormal stresses on the hubs/bearings etc,

I'd agree that 25mm would be a good size and with 165/50 tyres, you won't scrub at all
