1989 Mk1 Caddy Pickup 1.9TD

Featured Replies

Evening Everyone

I have to sell my Caddy so me and the Mrs can buy a car.

It started life as a 1.6D but was converted by my boss to a 1.9TD a few years ago. Eventually he fitted a cable change gearbox and linkage aswell.

I bought it from him a few months ago with the plan to rat it.

It has an unknown make of coilovers on the front and is running a set of BBS(I think) wheels with legal tyres.

The bodywork isnt great. The sills have been patched to get it through an MOT and dont look very pretty(but there solid). The bed has rusted at the back edge and I am sure it has other dodgy bits. It has 2 pattern wings on the front as the originals were shagged. They will need painting.

It currently has no Tax or MOT. It failed its MOT on:

1. Horn Not Working (From what I can see the horn push is knackered)

2. N/S Brake Light Not Working (A bulb I assume. Not actually looked at it)

3. Diesel Leak From Engine (It looks like its coming from a leak off pipe. I dont have time to sort it. It drove 30 miles back from the MOT centre with the leak and still drove great)

4. Drivers Door Does Not Open From Outside (The handle has snapped so will need a new one. I still have the broken handle so the lock can be swapped over)

I would suggest coming to view the Caddy so you can make up your own mind about it. I have described it as best as I can. At the end of the day its a ratty looking Mk1 Caddy thats solid in the important places. All it really needs is a weekends work to get it through an MOT and your all set :)
