paper work doesnt say much about the car?

Featured Replies

well on my reg cert says its a 1.4 CL 1999 3 door 1390 cc 2 axle-rigid body chassis wvwzzz6nzxy , APQ engine . and thats it. doesnt say if its a 8v or 16 v? mk3 or mk lll , what is the difference? 6n1 or 6n2? none of them on the log?? and one more thing iv noticed, is that on the car itself it says polo CL Match! i thought its either not boith? DVLA was meant to write all the details of the car on their log to make the car more specific and easier to recognise against fraud?! am i wrong or is it just the way it is? so if the details are not on the log then how can a buyer find these details? well you need it dont you? to sell it in future maybe, repairs and just to know what sort of car u are driving? or maybe i am being paranoid lol.

I'm not 100% on what you're getting at... but...

it does say '6n1' its part of the chassis number, 'wvwzzz6nzxy'

it wont say 8v or 16v as you already know the engine 'APQ' not many people are that bothered about how many valves a car has.

it doesnt say what 'mk' it is either as you have the year on there '1999'

It's a 6N, technically speaking that's a MK3, with a 6N2 being a MK3F, but most people on here will refer to it as a Mk4 (with facelift models being counted as separate marks)

APQ is a 1.4 litre 8 valve engine, although the log book should show the full engine code

All the info's there, it's just about extrapolating.

thanks for you are reply guys. I'm just trying to figure out how someone who doesnt know anything about these details ( like ME ) lol, can find it out. cuz its not like everyone who buys a car know it all without research. but thanks for helping me out thou, nice of u. by the way, one more question, how about the mark on my boot? it says polo CL aswell as MATCH, why does it say it both? shudnt it be one or the other? either CL or MATCH?
