Confusing insurance

Featured Replies

I'm 17, and i'm currently insured on a 1L polo 6n whils't I'm leaning for £1011 with Quinn.

Now when i try to get a quote for when i've passed i'm getting quotes for £3000+, even though everyone on here seems to say they were paying around £1500 a year.

I've tried a number of different companies for third party and theft and they all give me a similar quote.

Am i doing something wrong or is it just impossible to get below 2k?

Add a parent as a named driver and see how much it is with pass plus or whatever they do these days.

We'll i've tried that on things like confused.com and gocompare.com and it works out as a few hundred more?

at the end of the day your 17, a boy? so your prob gonna do something bad within your first year.

try putting your mum or dad as the main driver and you as a named driver. thats what i did when i passed insurance cost my dad an extra 200 pounds a year.

As your learning you are accompanied with an adult and supervised into not doing anything silly

once passed your on your own and are at greater risk to cause harm to others (Thats not a dig at you it just how insurance is calculated)

Insurance company see males aged between 17 - 26 as nutters

I know this is the stupidest thing I will ever say on a vw forum but when you young you need to look at a low group insurance car and lowest with a little credit was a 1.2 16v Corsa which is a Group 2 insurance car

1 being the lowest and 20E being the highest
