well i have had a quote from a company called zorstec of around £800 for a 421-straight through-single 2" back box

i am not sure if this is cheap or reasonable or expensive? as i have not had a custom system made before, so i would be grateful if anyone could suggest anywhere else i could try around the leeds/yorkshire area to compare to?

That's *very* cheap for a custom tubular manifold and full system if they know what they are doing.

But as youve said thats £300 for a system, thats not including a manifold.

That is neither cheap nor expensive matey, thats about middle of the market, there is a place in cardiff called prospeed, a mate of mine had a similar setup for £580

I'm not sure how much a custom manifold costs but for me £800 would be a lot to spend on an exhaust system for an AFH. I'm running SS manifold which cost £150 from ebay and a custom made 'manifold' back 2 box system from Longlife which cost £250ish.

I know the ebay manifolds are not the best in the world but I very much doubt a custom built one would give £400 worth of benefit/BHP/Torque.

that £400 would be better off going towards a set of cams :)

having seen one of those ebay manifolds dissected I'd say you'd be better off keeping the standard manifold and just getting a downpipe back system made for about £300 or so.

But £800 for a (decent) 4-2-1 manifold & full stainless exhaust system is about right really.

the custom built 4 branch on mine was designed to clear a g60 charger and the mk3s anti-roll bar and cost the guy 550 quid to have made, i got it at a snippet of the cost 2nd hand. and a custom cat back system normally costs between 200-300 quid, so id say thats a fair price.

check out double s exhausts, they are proper down south but look uber tech
