I am having an on going problem with my car, the car will be driving fine then will suddenly pop on the EPC warning light on the dashboard and cut down the power dramatically. I have just changed the spark plugs and the ignition cables seem fine. Could it be a problem with some sort of sensor?

Quickest way to find out why the epc light is on would be to scan it with vag com

First time I had it it was the brake light switch, this would be the first thing i'd advise you check

This time I have no real idea, been told it's the throttle body though. Tried cleaning it with no luck so next thing will probably be a new one :( Mine's really bad though, likes to cut out in traffic and not start again lol

If it's not your brake light switch (which is easy to diagnose) then i'd say get it checked with Vag Com!

if it's cutting power it's going into limp mode for some reason, the fact it still runs means you can almost certainly rule out crank/cam sensors..

as said above, fault diagnosis is your first thing to do

As I said before, the first thing I'd check would be the brake light switch

But tbh the best thing to do would be to stick it on vag com and find out that way

hey i have just bought a polo gti and i have had this proble but my car cut out and just wnt start if tryed ht lead and coil pack no luck so on monday I'm geting it scanned hope this works as have had car 3 days and drove it 30 miles
