all these rims - RHs, Borbets, BBS - are all nice wheels but i dont think they will suit the style of the car. Why not go for something wider but with little or no dish at the back and thinner at the front in a similar style to the Solitudes I'm thinking of stuff like Compmotive MOs Team Dynamics Speedlines maybe even Schmidt modern lines (the ones with out the dish) and you can still have it stanced so the rear arches are pulled and the fronts are left alone.

I am certainly NOT telling you how to build your car, the above are suggestions, the above wheels have been done to death as have the ones i mentioned but you build it how you wish my friend I'm sure you will be pleased, i would with rear discs lol

As much as I love them too, they wouldn't go over my front 280mm discs, and the Steffan RSII's are 18" so a bit OTT for a 6n Polo

Humm, then some ATS Cups or Schmidt Modern Lines. Don't really have more suggestions as I'm not a very big fan of dished rims. I just prefer sth like OZ Superleggera or Borbet LS :)

Fahrvergnugen Tuning Chipped ECU now fitted.....

Can't say i've noticed a significant performance increase (but then again I guess as its a 1.4 n/a car - i'm probably comparing it to the increase I had on my 2.5TDi A4) but it has ironed out some of the flatspots I always remembered.

We'll see if it makes a difference next time I see that Ralliart Mitsibushi Colt on the way to work down the country lanes (147bhp 4 cylinder, 16 valve, DOHC - 1.5 Petrol Turbo) Its always been neck and neck so far

Am now contemplating ditching the coilovers in favour of some uprated suspension, i'm thinking of adjustable Koni's. Starting to hate the way Coilovers feel on normal roads (crashing / banging etc)...... therefore, offer is out there, who wants some AP Coilovers for a Mk4 Polo 16v ? Pwhoar 16x8 will be a bit tight in your arches! I'm on 16x7 atm and i have millimetres to spare up against my dampers, but if you can pull them off then they'd look absolutely awesome!

What size tyre would go on an 8" wide rim with no stretch ? I've got 195/45/15's on a 7J at the mo (i'm assuming that you go up a tyre size per 1/2" of rim)

I'd guess that i'd be on 205's

Trouble is, tyre makes / models are crap for the 6N, the only way I can guess is to oversixe your tyre to something like 215/45/16,

That gives me the option of;

I've got 195/40 16s on the front, 45s on the rear , and i'm just about to whack 215/40 16s on the back (cos the rears are shagged) with some 10mm spacers. Remember to check the diameter change against standard tyre sizes! (cant remember what it is on a valver, 6n2 its 185/55 14) 195 40 16 is within 3% diameter of my original wheels so i'm ok on them, remember its your fronts you have to be picky with, the rears dont matter as much ! there are 205/45s out there!

It depends on the rolling diameter of the wheel, so with low enough profile tyres you can avoid that...

as for no stretch, on a 16x8 .... are you insane!!!!! youll be so high off the ground, you might aswell have stayed on standard shocks lol =) bang some 195/45 or at the most 195/50s on it and youll be fine
