Hudster's mk2 project , The Jade Green Slag.

Featured Replies

Alright guys,

Bought this very tidy mk2 a few weeks ago , It was first bought with the intention of being a daily while i slowly sorted out the mk2f ,

However seeing how tidy it was and allready loving driving it iv decided to keep it and have two cars, allways having one off the road.

Shes a 1.05 HZ 5 speed which is pretty rare these days, down 70/80 (too much) and i THINK jade green according to guy and his jetta, If youve got any info on the colour give us a shout because theres quite alot of body repair to do.

They're some pics of when i first got it, Dont really like the red pinstriped bumpers or the chequerd reverse light so these will be going when iv got some money to spend on her which will be the end of this month.

Gave her a wash a few days after i bought her and noticed that the front bumper was pretty wobbly so took that off, didnt really want it flapping about on the motorway when i was on the way to scarbough for the weekend with the missus, Will be sorting it out and deleting the red stripe when i get paid.

Small mods if done so far inlcude different backbox which is just a second midbox with a different tail pipe. looks alot neater and sounds much better, Stereo , interior back in, bit of trim spraying etc, just generally tidying it up.

Got big plans for it but for now , with the money iv got its going to be:

sell the wellers and buy some 14x6 or 13x5.5 steels, maybe golf/vento and have them ancerite silver, Red rear lights , webber tla 32, GT seats or the like, New middle spots, and then gererally sorting the shell out.

Future plans are either a standard 3f/abd or a tuned MH/AAV on a DMTR.

Subframe

derby lights.

Did a 300 mile round trip to whitby and scarbrough this weekend in her and she never skipped a beat 8-)

Heres some pics:

Will be doing a full build thread soon!

Cheers guys , what you think?

Like the car a lot.

3F on ABD bottom end with GT injection and gearbox. Done and done.

Yeah if i was having the ABD it would definitely have a GT cam at some point ,and i'd have to wait for the GT box to come up for sale. Would also use the 5th gear out of an 8P.

Its staying away from fuel injection too lol, may have to give phataz off here a PM regarding a bike carb many.

Cheers for your comment, glad you like it mate!

I prefer it with its bumper aswell but dint really want it on and the mounts being rusty. i like the look of the metal bumpers you find on the mk1 polo so may have to invest in one of them.

I think iv sourced an ABD for pretty cheap aswell so might be getting that. Want this to be pretty torque biased opose to the power biased mk2f iv got, Cant wait till i get that done, Just need a weekend on it and it should be ready.

Just need to find this bloody paint colour!

mk1 golf bumpers would be sweet man... i seen it done once on a mk2 bready i think

some fine legs there

hell yeah they look better, The polo items seem to stick out right far and gernally look pretty wank.

Also like it how the front bumper doesnt seem to wrap around the sides.

Everything looks dope in those pictures!

Looking forward to seeing how that turns out!

Wheel choice:

Hopefully when i get paid ill be spraying these up and wrapping them in some decent GT size tyres from goodyear.

I'm thinking anthracite grey or just a nice silver, want to keep it looking pretty OEM , Black i think looks ok but iv had black wheels on all of my cars so want a change.

Also think I'm gonna try and get some GT steelies on the cheap as a second set of wheels.

Anyone got any up for sale?

Anyone know what colour i am!

At a guess, I would say you're white. Although I have no evidence to back this up.

If youre talking about the car. Have a look at http://www.paintscratch.com/

I think the only green is Jade Metallic Clearcoat LN6V/X8
