SOD OFF MATE...he is basically saying get a crap car, and dont do any mods and your insurance will be cheap...NO IT WONT...Its expensive whatever you drive if your a yonger driver...modded or not...

no he's basically saying young people have higher insurance cos as a group we are more likely to crash which is mainly due to driving too fast without experience. which is absolutely true.

True, some young drivers cant handle their cars and do drive like idiots, but I dont think its fair saying because you are young you should get a crap car, and if your passionate about cars, like me and want to mod a car tastefully, then you shouldn't. If you mod a car correcyly it will improve handling etc, so if you are driving fast, then you are less likely to loose control!

In some countries like America...all you have to do is insure the car...not the driver, which I like the idea of!! :-D

SOME young people are a law unto themselves, and this is why every young persons insurance is high. and what with the current economic climate everything is more expensive and according to the news its going to get more expensive.

i think you younger drivers get raped becuase you are an easy target. granted you are more likely to crash than people who are over 25, but if you havnt crashed yet, I dont see why the premium should be so disproportionately high. Once you've crashed then fair enough whack the premium up

it is daylight robbery !its worse wen u question a quote of like 3-4 grand like how is that possible thats more than the car! and i dno about use but 2 grand i think is alot of money to pay for insureance! time u pay for the up keep ect your skint at the end of the week or month on appentice wages

Young drivers pay so much purely because they will- so insurance companies are going to continue to bump up the price till nobody uses their product. Just like any other product or service.

I think we should use a learning system simiar to Sweden.

so what happens if you start work at 5am? you get bummed for starting early? why dont they just have a set cost for vehicles, ie 1litres should at 17 cost 700quid, 1.2's shouyld be 750quid etc...then put stupid prices on powerful cars so the kids cant afford to insure them! that way its fairer but sort of limits everyone down to the engines they can have

I don't really care because I'm not classed as a young driver anymore...yeah it is selfish but there's got to be some perks to being old!

if you don't like it then don't get insurance that requires you to have one of those boxes, it's not some thing you have to do, it's an option that gives you cheaper insurance.

and unmodified car's are shit loads cheaper to insure than the same car but with modifications so he was stating facts, again he wasn't saying you have to drive an unmodified car, he was saying if you want cheaper insurance then don't modify it.

yes young drivers do get raped on their car insurance, but the one's with unmodified car's and tracking boxes in their car's are getting raped a hell of a lot less than you. i don't see what your getting so worked up over? no ones telling you what to do, the show was just helping out young people by giving them advice on how to get cheaper insurance.

lol i tried this with a company called i kube i asked about 1.0's and they still wanted £2500 of me, tbh ide prefer to go named like my quote is at £700 full comp

I am not getting raped for car insurance now, but I used to and I dont think the discrimination is fair, its not like this in other countries, and I never plan to have a box to track where I am and what I am doing. I have 4 years no claim and am older, so its a lot cheaper for me anyway, but it was almost impossible for me to start driving at 18, could not afford to when I was 17 as I had to buy the car and insurance off my own back.

DOM stated that one day all insurance companies may use this tracking box crap...no thanks!!

Anyway to sum up ONE SHOW = TOTAL BOLLOCKS!

i doubt it, that would totally go against the governments 'big society' and would hark back to the previous governments obsession with big brother style tactics. they would be committing suicide if they even appeared to be going down that route.

no they didn't renew her contract because she was playing them off against ITV in a bidding war over her. the new female presenter appeared totally naked in a photo shoot
