I have an alpine 9847r in very good condition - perfect working order. It's a good clean sounding unit and the colours are changeable to match any polo's lighting scheme! Off the top of my head there is: blue and red - red - green - orange. I had it in my mk4 and it matched the green well and now in my 9n it goes well with the blue and red! The facia is also detachable to deter theives. The unit has been used to run an external amp so the internal amp has never been used - therefore it has loads of life left in it!

The ipod interface is the standard alpine one K420i I believe. This charges the ipod and you can access playlists, flick through songs and shuffle alums or entire playlists. I normally have my whole ipod on shuffle. Oh and it works with ipod classics right the way through to the new iphone 4!!

All boxes and accessories are still in good condition and will come with the sale. The only minor issue is the plastic fasia case (for storing the facia when detached) does not clip shut anymore as the lug has snapped. This is a really minor issue though.

There isn't really much more to say about the kit than that. I have had it all from new about four years ago but it has been used little because I've been at uni and my car has been sitting in a garage for most of that time!

Price-wise, I'm not sure what it all worth - make me an offer! I would also be prepared to split the kit for the right price.

I won't be offended by any offer, so please feel free to offer away!! I would estimate the value of both items at £120.

Yes it should fit in your 96 polo (providing it has the normal connectors ie: standard headunit) just plug in the wiring loom provided with my headunit and away you go!

One thing - I did modify the wiring loom when I was using an external amplifier but I've put it back to normal. All it means is the front speaker wires have been cut and put back with wire connectors. It makes NO difference to the operation but I'm just being honest. A new loom is about a tenner if you're bothered.

It comes with the manual, removal keys, cage, box and any other original bits!

P.S - it matches the green in the mk4 really well :)

Well I really wanted this but assumed it sold. I bought a 30£ one that is crap! And now I only have 50£ until I get paid on the 10th November assuming by then it's been sold. Also does this unit have Bluetooth? Cheers.

I'd let it go for 100 + postage (need to check how much postage will be and could negociate depending)

If I sell it I will post SOLD on here, otherwise you can have it then. I'm not in a rush to sell. Waiting for my new headunit to arrive still anyway!

And no, it doesn't have bluetooth unfortunately. It will make your standard speakers sound great though and you will have the option to add amplifiers if you wish. The ipod interface it also useful as you can skip tracks from the headunit and it charger your ipod. Just note that it won't charge iphones, it will play music from them though.
