Boot Light not working on mk5

Featured Replies

When I open my boot lid the light doesn't come on :/, the fuse hasn't blown because the interior light works when I open the doors, All is wired correctly.

Is there a seperate fuse for the boot light?

Is there a switch in the boot lid which may have broken because the bulb is fine?

from what i've read,

The switch is actually a micro switch which is integral to the boot lock mech.

When you open the boot, does it display something on your dash (boot open light).. If not, it will be more than likely your microswitch. If the light comes on you dash, it'll more than likely be a wire connection, which I have been told is under the rear passenger side footwell carpet which commonly comes unplugged.

Check also that your rear washwipe is working. The pipe in the tailgate is notorious for falling off and then water dripping onto the microswitch burning it out. It is possible to replace or remove and clean.
