I wanna get that genesis sticker made up, but just the 'genesis' bit, not the funky instrument bit. And in my own colours

how do you get them images off that site

Do the art work on the site until you are happy with the image. then press "Print Screen"

Then go onto photoshop open a new image and press ctrl+V and it will post your screen image into the file!

free genesis are the only way to roll

but is forest green the quite unusual dark green that the mk3's came in? if so i hate you

i'd love one in that colour, i was going to paint my coupe that green but i think i'm going for a darker green now but it's because of how good that green suits the coupes that i've chosen green

No pics of the actual car yet - I'm having to wait until my parents have had there driveway redone before I can go and pick the shell up. Then i'll get the engine & running gear the weekend after.

yeah! Got the car down! It really does need some TLC before the GT lump goes into it!

Decided to go for the stripped out Race/Rally look.

Going to fit a G40 interior into it over the next couple of weeks (I can only work on it in the evening and on my days off!)

May try and get a set of 15" Comp MO's on it too!

Been very busy today! Santa came early!

Its my day off tomorrow and i'm doing some cleaning, stripping & i'm collecting an engine crane in the afternoon! :)

Ok so here are a few pics of what i've been upto over the last few days.

Collected my Free Genesis on Sunday with the help of my dad and a towing dolly:-

Was a nice drive lastnight - went to Glasgow to collect a complete GT running gear, loom & gearbox - along with a few other useful bits and pieces.

It was my day off today. so thought i'd get started by giving the engine bay a good clean - used almost 2 litres of gunk and a very stiff paint brush:-

The car was looking a bit sad for itself - so I have give Kermit a good wash and polish! Came up quite well!!

Even managed to borrow an engine hoist from a local company to lift the engine straight out of the back of the Touran and into the bay

Looks alot better now! Need to get the wiring sorted get an exhaust and loads of other random bits and pieces before I get it running!

I'm sure that there will be something that i'll forget or be stuck with and need help!

Looks not too bad, I gave it a wash and a polish when I first got it back in 2009 so its done well to still come up good now.

Good progress though Andy, can't wait to see this on the road.

thats cleaned up well and seems to be shining and looks a nice straight shell, one of my fav polo colours.

Colour is called 'Dark Green' btw not forest green

Paint code is L68Q - listed as Dark Green. Even my local VAG dealer said thats Forrest Green!

Also sourced a G40 exhaust manifold, cat bypass pipe & Stainless centre & backbox for £65!

2nd hand gt radiator, cowling & fan sorted too!

Seems to be coming together!

Drivers side driveshaft is seized at the end - looks like its bunged up with grass and dirt! So thats soaking in a mixture of wd40 & gunk! If not then another couple of driveshafts maybe required! :)
