The 2nd hand rad was one from Richard. It isnt a GT one. Just something to get me rolling for the time being. But I will definately be needing a new one off you!

I have tried to give you a bell over the last couple of days to see how much i'm due you for the bits I asked for! :)

Phone is fooked mate...keeps losing the signal...it's going back tomorrow.

Talk to you about your parts at the meet...

Seems you've gone and gotten you're self a cold....lol BOGEY green haha

Some more pics for this thread, I'll post it up once back from Austria at the end of the month (Picnic bench not included)...

Cheers for the exhaust pics Matt! :) That looks like money well spent! :)

Oh and the engine loom is in now - going to re-wrap the loom with proper VAG tape one bit at a time. I was only unsure about a couple of the connectors - but Ross came to the rescue to check it over - even mentioned that i could have got it started with a few more mods. But i'll leave that until i've got the engine mounts bolted in properly!!

Need to get the p/s headlight out - but will attempt that over the weekend - 1 bolt is seized in solid and the screw head is mullered!

Wiring is loosely in place until I get some loom tape

Slowly getting there!

The engine mount bolt kit arrived from VAG yesterday - so should get all 3 engine mounts sorted this weekend. get the driveshafts in and strip the radiator of its cowling & fan - paint the cowling matt black and fit brand new 3 pin rad fan! Then get the water pipes all connected up. Still need to sort fuel lines, fuel pump & handbrakes. Plus the wiring needs finished and the handbrake sorted. But getting there!

more pics! more pics! :p

glad its moving forward.

Didnt take too long to get the last seat out and skip the lot - gave the carpet a clean with an industrial wet/dry hoover. much better.

Then got down to getting my newly acquired G40 interior in! Thanks to 13KpoloGT

Can't believe how this car has transformed since it left Toby's in quite a sorry looking state.

The aim is to get it to the November Aberdeen meet!

Well - things are still sitting in the same state at the moment. But at least its getting a financial injection with a nice little £2000 loan now! My aim is going to be to get it running for my birthday in April - like I said - no rush it isnt my number 1 prioriety.

However i wouldnt say no to some help sometime! :)

May need to source a new tank - also looking for a gt rear axle to refurb and fit to the shell. also bought some new flexi's and new copper pipe work for the brake lines. Some of the parts will be powder coated bright yellow - just for a bit of fun! :)

ok sto time for an update - after having the piss ripped well and trouely out of me at yesterdays meet I decide to get the whole day spent doing things to the car.

Done today:-

refit fuse box correctly

swop over the fuel pump to the GT one

Fit the fuel lines to the fuel injector rail and return

fit the coil pack to the wing

coil to dizzy lead

check the oil level (still about half way)

Fitted most of the water hoses

Fitted its front end - so it has a face again

Also fitted a few other things too!

I managed to get it to turn over a few times - but not enough power in the battery. Oh well - time for a nice new Bosch one! Plus maybe someone can look over it for me to make sure I haven't missed anything obvious!

Glad we bullied you into doing it 8-) . Then you can say did it myself when it finished and feel proud. Yellow fogs suit it, half coded bumpers would be amazing. Anything under the bonnet? Engine should fire up nicely its a good reliable wee unit took me to work daily for 2.5 years and too 2 polo shows!

really enjoyed getting back into it again! it didnt take much more than 3hrs to go from as it stood to this. Just hope i've got the connectors on the pump the right way round, the fuel lines to the fuel rail - the fuse box was a pain in the arse!
