I saw a set of brand spanking new ones on eBay.de a few weeks back. I could have cried because they went for a reasonable price but i was skint :(

You can by the glass lenses from VW ;)

I was told they were obsolete?

And these fogs i was watching went for less than lenses from VW i bet

You can only get the drivers side - the passengers side one is obsolete!

Ok - so new exhaust arrived this week - just got it fitted this morning - will need to take it back off to put some gungum on the joints. but all fits together fine!

There is a running issue with it not ticking over - I have to hold the revs at 2000rpm or so for it to run smoothly. The cables that run to the lambda had rubbed away and i've have to cut, rejoin and wrap the cables.

Also it moved for the first time under its own power! Handbrake was seized on, so managed to bump it backwards on reverse and the clutch!

That made me smile!

Going to fit the headlights, handbrake cables and few other bits that need work.

Also got my insurance sorted today £20 a month! :)

Need to order another couple of Yoko's for the Le Castellets.

Just got handbrake cable to do and gearbox oil - going to chuck it in for an MOT and see what happens! Tickover is still erratic!

Just got wiper relay to change - recheck the windscreen washer pump & change a few bulbs - mabe check a few bit over - take it for a run to the MOT test and see how it goes!

All the work is now complete! Drove itself to the garage on Saturday in prep for its MOT today. Then promplty broke down at the garage! Turns out the coil pack I had on it was faulty - so nipped back to the house and grabbed a spare - swopped it out and it started first time!

See what happens later! :)

And it Failed!!!!

16 points on the fail sheet - p/s headlight doesnt work at all (- even though I changed all the bulbs!) 5 sections of brake pipe, 2 wheels bearings - discs and pads on the front, 1 ball joint and the new exhaust leaks. Not too bad then!

Fixable mate, stop moaning and get on with it ;)

Here is the car your engine came from Andy!

A wee 94k GT squareback I scrapped back in 2004 owned by a girl called Emma who worked in Loyds pharmacy in East Kilbride. Never realised it was 8 years I had that engine, rebuilt cosmetically twice and its been in 3 of my Squarebacks. Pulls like a train so look after it and it will be 100% reliable for you.

would fix that oil seal, its only £8 from VW to buy and an 1-1.5hrs in a garage or it will kill all you are ARB & TCA bushes (as your buying new one I would make this a priority or 1 month down the line u will need to buy them all again for the drivers side!!)

Richy still has a pair of her pants that came in the glove box, he offered me a sniff of them the other day but I declined, he'd been wearing them on his head.

cars looking good mate, the colour goes well with the yellow fogs :)
