I think i spent around 225 quid, char would have spent about the same so id say somewhere in the region of 450 quid.

car was super economical especially when we were travelling on the non-highways, travelling at lower speeds, which is far better to seeing all the scenery and still getting to blat it about on twisty mountain roads.

wanna go do it again.

i think some of the lads are plannin a trip from manc->holland->wolfsburg->ring hopefully early next year. i cant wait to go back, the roads round here just dont compare, and we only saw a handful of police cars on the whole trip, pretty much none of the mountain roads, or even the big highways and motorways

Looked like one hell of a trip, any problems along the way?

needed to fix the rear lights on the drive home from paris as they stopped working, but twas an easy fix and some frenchies stopped to see if we were ok! bar that, car was faultless the entire trip, oh the roof got stuck once and trying to unstick it, i got twatted in the face! not cool haha!

mk1s golfs are fooking amazing like and will go on ever! being a cabby too and having the roof down the entire way was just uber win!

Looks like a funking good time. High five on the pics too.

8-)

Looks like you had an awesome time.Something I've always wanted to do do but never had the balls to do it in a old car good to see the mk1s are still more than capable
