I've had my 9N for a couple of weeks now after getting a call from a friend of the family about her buying a mini. She'd had the car since new and only tootled about in it for the last 48k miles, always looked after it well and had it serviced on time everytime so i'd always said give me a call when you come to sell it. She did so i had to sell my Lupo Sport sharpish. Luckily it only took me a week to sell the lupo so i've taken on the role of Polo owner!

So far i've had mixed reviews off my Volkswagen friends, mostly cries of it being a boring old man granny mobile but i'm growing to like it. It's the first diesel i've had so it's totally different to the loop, i've gone from no torque below 4k to copious amounts so liking that side of it! It's got a few marks here and there but it's in pretty good nick for an 8 year old car, i'll be giving it a good clean when i get the chance and i'd love to do the whole 'i'm not going to mod my daily' thing but who whould i be kidding!! Coilovers and a remap will be coming soon, wheels will be happening after the winter as it should give me a bit of time to find something nice in 17" flavour.

Only bad parts i've found so far are the wishbone bushes seem to need doing so they'll be getting replaced with the Powerflex/Cupra combo along with the torque arm bush and the air con doesn't work. My mate investigated the air con with vagcom and it turns out it's the recirc motor and the other one that's supposedly a common problem so really looking forward to doing that job! Oh and the alternator pulley was knackered causing the auxilliary pulley to shear off the morning it got dropped off so that was a good start to polo ownership!

Here's the car it replaced, my awesome Lupo Sport! I miss it already but it was time to move on after 6 years of ownership.

And like i said, this is the daily so gives me a chance to whore out some pics of the non daily emkayone cabriolet 16valve!

I'd eat 3 cats for that cab.

I really wanted to hear replies like 'i hated the lupo' or 'the lupo was a right gaymobile' because i really miss it!

I had to take the sensible route with the 9N as my girlfriends parents are 200 miles away and it's good on fuel for the drive down. I have expressed my concern to the girlfriend that it needs to do better on fuel and a remap will make it much much better so drumming that into her at the moment! :-D I'm desperate to get started on the Polo but holding out for edition in the attempt to pick up some bargains at the show. Pretty much decided on wheels so we'll see if i can wait out the winter till i get them on, doubtful as i'm impatient! I'm going for a more grown up look on the polo and have a good idea of how i want it so hope it turns out as good as i've got the image in my head.

Kam can't believe you called me a sell out, i'm disgusted! A girl has it now so hopefully she's looking after it like i did. Hoping to see yours reappear after you've got the big day out of the way!

Think i'm going to debadge the tailgate at the weekend and order some material to trim the headliner as a dog ate some of the current one.

That cab is a stunner - reminds me of mine (although I have no pics of it anymore) :(

A remap will definitely help improve that drive, I've done a few of these VAG's now..

I have a 9n TDi now and haven't touched it apart from audio

Quick update, had a slight modification at the weekend in the form of some old douche driving into the side of me on a roundabout.

Luckily the damage wasn't too bad and the paint just polished out without leaving any scratches. It has pushed the arch in a little bit so i'll have to get that sorted before lows and wheels arrive.

The mood was lightened a bit when the bloke said 'That wasn't me there's no red on there.' I said 'That's because your car is green and not red!' Old guy turns round to look at his green A Class Merc and says 'Oh yes'!! I had to LOL.

He mighta been colour blind - green/red isn't discernible. But that is hilarious!
