So... I can't find a long list of all the wheels that have vw centre bore fitment.

I think it's time to start one... lets create the wheel bible. Don't knock me for the wheels I add, the list is here to help me to a better wheel future!

All wheels added to the list must have the correct vw centre bore (57.1) please

That says, do a ctrl f and type in 57.1, will show all places that's written, and most of the time spiggot rings are widely available to make it work :)

How about damn UltaLites as people say you need wobble bolts, but iv fitted one to mine with normal bolts, will the wheel fall off or what? what the hell help!

I'm no help there sorry! I can only suggest a thorough inspection that it sits flush, the wheel is centred/rotates true and that it is secure...?

who gives a shit about centre bore though really, surely pcd would be more useful, spigot rings are cheap and theres not many that can't be made big enough with sandpaper, a file or a <£5er a wheel trip to an engineerig firm. Whereas pcd adaptors are pricey...

Living in a big city like bradford, engineering firms will be close by, but I would have to travel a fair distance to my nearest one so it would end up more expensive and be hassle to take them. For me (and I'm sure others) centre bore does count, I wouldn't of asked otherwise.

On your list, the pcds aren't all 4x100 so if they're not 4x100 why does the centre bore matter as you would be buying adaptors anyway ??? would you seriously turn down a set of wheels that you liked that were in say 56.1 centre bore? you'd only need to tickle it with a file or sandpaper to make them fit! That's like half a millimetre of metal to file off around the hole! Thats just lazy mate! and like I say, spigot rings are cheap as.

Theres only really toyota wheels that are 4x100 and more than half a mil to shave off! Seriously half a mil is like a maggot's cock hair or summat!

ye I was thinking if the list ever gets long enough to sort them into 4 pcd groups... so '4x100', '5x112', '5x100' and 'others'. the 3 most popular vw pcds (except touregs etc..) and the rest in another.

As it stands the list isn't growing too fast ha.

I've been looking at oldish ford wheels that are 4x100 with a 57.1 bore so was hoping the knowledge that is clubpolo would add a few hidden gems like that!

Yeah stuff like that would probably crop up, but personally (and I know this isn't true of everyone) the way I see it, if you want some cool or different wheels to fit your car, find them first then see how hard it is to make them fit, firstly look into the pcd and whether you're prepared to pay for adaptors if required, then size/offset and associated clearance issues as these can throw a big spanner in the works, then look at centre bore as something of an afterthought - it being the easiest to negotiate.

I think the reason the list isn't going off is probably that it would just end up being an exhaustive list of vag group wheels, and then pretty much all aftermarket wheels, while excluding many perfectly viable wheels just because they have a bit of a bigger/smaller bore.

Make it a list of oem (not necessarily vag) 4x100 wheels, the pcd required by most of this forum's users, with bore and offset listed but not excluding non vag size then it becomes a useful tool for budding scrapyard/ebay hunters looking for some cheap wheels that can be made to fit easily.

I'm with Danny on this one. PCD is always the biggest concern then centre bore. Spigot rings are so cheap and boring out is pretty easy as well.

ye fair points made. just trying to make it easier for wheel numpties like me to find what information they need in one place... i'll have a good dig and see what list i can sort out!

Its all good that you wanna learn and help. But take advice when its given that centre bore isn't a huge issue. If its like 1mm out then you can just give it a quick bit of loving with some sandpaper. If its to big just get some spigots.

i took the advice and said would change the list about? I listed the pcd from the start too so I can't the problem your pointing out.

You may want to file/sand into new wheels but what I replied was that I personally don't want to and wouldn't be comfortable doing it. it's no big deal?

That website seems to cover it for the most part tbh. Model, Year, PCD, Offset, Bore.

that website tells you what your car is... not what the wheels are? your telling me about the bread, when I'm wanting to know about the sandwich filler.

I'm not being negative about you posting but people are trying to help you and your just getting riled up about it for no reason.

That website is useful thats why I am referring to it. Just because I'm an admin on here doesn't mean that I can't find other websites useful and that I can't link to them. Someone has taken there time to make that site so I think its a good idea to use it.

If you know what fitment the car is and you know it'll fit your car then its not the hardest thing in the world to go to ebay and type in that car name and then wheels after it and find what your after. Or to take a note of which of those cars wheels fit on your car and put them in your phone so when you go down the scrapyard you can refer back to them.

I know quite a lot about wheels, I have had a lot of sets of wheels in my time and they have been of various different PCD, offsets, widths, diameters, centre bores and I'm telling you that centre bore is the least important. Yet you still seem to think its is the most important and worry about it. Its really not important and I know my shit so just take the advice and not worry about it. Find some wheels you like in the correct PCD and offset then worry about the centre bore cause its easily sorted out afterward.

So if you wanna carry on and collect your centre bore list then go ahead but I'm telling you its almost completely pointless and all I'm trying to do is save you a bit of headache for doing something that is pointless.
