Right so head gasket blew on the polo and it's given me a much needed kick up the arse to do some of things I've been planning on doing for a while.

So got my hands on a spare head, spend a good few days blindly fumbling around with a die grinder to surprisingly good effect (or atleast I think) managed to evenly enlarge the ports and get a nice flow to the shape of them aswell. Obviously only time will tell if its made any decent difference.

Next sent the head of to be skimmed and got on with ordering parts.

Only thing left to arrive now is 270 degree cam from Newman. Which TSR performance seem to think will suit my needs nicely.

Last of all picked up the head today gave it a good clean (much to mothers distaste) and got on with possibly my least favourite job in the world.

So yeah that's it for now, hopefully will have some have decent updates in the not so distant future.

cheers, Liam

I need to do some head scrubbing. What did you use detergent-wise?

Gave it a going over with a washing up sponge and some fairy liquid. The just put it in the hotest cycle with just water.

Looking good Liam, glad the head is being put to good use

Clean! Love the tailgate
