sh*tter - the mk2 polo breddy

Featured Replies

ok I'm not gunna do a full wip for the car as i already have like 4 on the go.

the car as i got it was a bag of sh*t and i honestly do not know how it had an mot on it, exhaust held on by zipties, lights that didnt work, a broken carb and autochoke, fuse's missing left right and centre, wheels that scrubbed on the suspension struts and buckled the arches, it didnt rev, barely drove and rarely idled, the rear bearings were shot and sooo much more.

to date I've fitted some custom wheels (more for comedy value than looking good but also so i can now actually drive the car without worrying about every pebble on the road destroying my front wings and rear suspension)

I've found a fairly retro style roof rack which I've painted to match the wheels

other than that I've basically repaired all the bodge jobs various previous owners hav forced on the car.

heres some pics.....

as it was wen i got it (minus about 200 stickers)

as it is now (more or less)

wheels say:

zero to sixty....... once

0 10 20 30 40 BANG!

polo power or lack thereof

who needs alloy wheels?

and finally.... the car behind bars.... (it was being naughty pissing oil everywhere)

lemme know what u think... I'm fully aware sum1 else on here owned it before so no need to keep telling me this, its my car now not theirs, so id appreciate likes or dislikes on MY car. thankyou :D

yeh..... they dont work.... just another example of the bodgyness thats gone on!

i was gonna buy this car once last year but they wanted 700 quid and it looked dodgy so left it.and found a nice standard one much cheaper. and I'm sure there is two previous owners on here.

good luck with it anyway dude. where abouts in the country you from?

it is dodgy but I'm a fairly competant amatuer mechanic so i took it on, glad it got it fairly cheap tbh. probably more than 2 on here... i aint blaming the shocking bodges on any particular owner as i dont know who did what... but i feel sorry for anyone who has ever bought a car off them lol.

I'm from solihull area (near birmingham)

what problems have you got with it atm

hmm well I've just done the rear bearings and drums as sum muppet had threaded the bolt holes

I've gotta re-tap the thread on the rear seat bolt holes

I've had to re-wire the reverse light cuz god knows what happened to that

I've gotta rebuild part of the engine and its been fooked with a lot and now pisses oil out left right and centre... who uses bathroom sealant as a head gasket?

all the bush's are fucked on t front end, its been lowered on the standard dampers... dumb idea, makes the car handle shite and bouncy as fuck

its had some of the worse respray work done to it I've ever seen

half of the wiring I've had to replace cuz its been cut into and bodged up

the dials dont work properly... theyve been bodged in from the later spec polo, so they could have a rev counter

and I've never seen soooo much exhaust putty on one exhaust before...lol

some of the stuff aint the fault of anyone its normal wear and tear but the bodgework is disgusting, bordering on dangerous.

meh its all fun and games tho. luckily for me i like tinkering with cars :D
