My first build, polo 6n

Featured Replies

Model: 6N/MK4 1.4 CL

Engine: 1.4 8v (requires strip down and rebuild) :x

Suspension: Standard

Brakes: Standard

Wheels and Tyres: Fox Racing Alloys need a recon but going to get some Borbet

Exterior Styling: All standard at the moment but not for long 8-)

Interior Styling: All standard CL interior

ICE and Security: Standard speakers but no head unit :-( i suppose it saves me removing it

Comments: Well so far this is looking rather boring and all standard, brought it for £270 as spares and repairs due to engine not being 100% but its coming out for a strip down. Got a few ideas in mind I'm hoping to have it all done and looking good by the next VW show at tatton park. Hope its going to be something abit different but we are going to have to see how it goes. so far ideas which are planned are:

- 16v bumpers

- Lowered (not decided how low yet)

- Borbet T's or BBS split rims

- Boot smoothed with reg moved into bumper

- Remove the rear wiper

- De badged grill

- Remove aerial for a more clean look

- Tinted rear windows

- Remove side strips

- Clear indicators

- Maybe a respray (All ideas on colours are welcome please)

- So on....

- And so on....

There is more ideas including the interior but easier to just show you as i do it rather than list it all now.

Here some pictures of how my "Second Girlfriend" (according to my actual girlfriend) looks right now:

What are you building?

just replace it with another 1.4, don't bother stripping it unless it's something easy like a head gasket.

I had the same wheels on my golf mk3 1.4 years ago, till I hit a log in the road and created "the eggmobile"

Also, you should chuck up some pics of your first girlfriend, for comparison of course.

the idea is to build a show/daily user something that looks good but can still be used as normal. so you could call it a luxury daily use polo and i had the idaee of replacing it but its swings and round about becasue people have told me stripping it down and replacing a few parts is cheaper than replacing the engine but either way the engine is coming out

and i would show you a picture of her but i think she would have my balls lol but my cars definatly the second girlfriend

I havnt had a chance to get started work on the car today but tomorrow after work will get some bits started and put some pictures up

had a thought about the colour but still cant decide thinking might keep it dragon green but might change it to something i fancy something abit different

Managed to get out today after work so i thought i would start on the car getting it stripped so i started on the inside today took me a little while make sure i had everything right and found a few bits that i need to replace which have cracked from previous owner trying to remove it, removed all the dash parts except from the dash itself and the b and c pillar trim. The pillar trim is going to be covered in leather as well as retrimming the roof lining in leather too but unsure what colour will be the best for both. the dash will be leathered and all the plastics will possibly be colour matched to the car,

here some pictures of the car at the moment.
