I prepared this car two years ago to use as an introduction to speed events, am now moving on to a bike engined Seven so unfortunately have to sell.

The base car is a 1989 Peugeot 205 Roland Garros, the same spec as a 205 XS but originally came with electric windows and leather seats.

For those not to up on 205s, its a 1360cc all aluminium engine that made 85bhp from the factory, mated to a close ratio 5-speed gearbox. This means that it wasnt far off the performance of the 1.6 GTi in real terms. This one has been modified with....

Suspension:

Spax -30 springs

Spax Adjustable Dampers

Modified GTi Subframe

Polybushed 309 Wishbones

Group N top mounts

17mm GTi front ARB

19mm (GTi) Torsion Bars

24mm rear ARB (16mm ARB included)

Group N solid Beam mounts

Sold with 5 months tax, MOT is up at the end of April but can re-MOT.

I have used it for two seasons of hillclimbing as well as trackdays and 12 car rallys and its never let me down! It's been used hard but also looked after well and never abused.

It has performed admirably at various hillcimb venues in the south, including (in 2009) a 55.65 at Prescott, 98.19 at Llandow and 40.47 at Shelsley Walsh (see http://www.hillclimbandsprint.co.uk/res-detail.asp?Year=2009 to compare times).

It had a fair amount of work done including head gasket and various other things before I bought it.

The bad points are....

Bonnet was replaced at some point in the past and roughly resprayed matt black, which has started to peel.

Heater was removed as it didnt work, which means no demister (on the plus side... less weight!). Can include an electric heater which is pretty good.

Smokes a bit (valve stem seals a bit old and hard, compression excellent on all cylinders).

The perfect way into budget motorsport, cost a few times the asking price to put together in both money and man hours. Don't really want to let it go but space is at a minimum.
