I'm looking into purchasing a vw polo of some description to modify tastefully and take to meets and shows, I'm currently driving around in a fiat punto and fancy something abit more original, any ideas of where to start?

With £1200 id get a mk2/mk3 i think, could pick up a low mileage one in VGC for that!

mk3 coupes are cheap great fun and look great with little work, your budget will go very far if your buy the right car

i would recommend a mk3 gt though, great little cars. with 1200 you could get a pretty nice example.
