My Polo estate 1.9TDI

Featured Replies

Hello all

Knew to the forum and just thought id show and tell you all about my polo estate. Some people love them and others hate them.

Car started off as my mums untill she bought a replacement headlight for it (non vw part) which burnt the wiring loom out and nearly set the car on fire. Turns out the plug was wired up backwards running power down the earth. Anyway she bought a knew car and i got given this to rewire. Rewire the lighting loom and waited to pass test. Passed test over a year ago now 20,000+ miles and have done a few mods to how it is today both engine and how it looks.

Engine is a 1.9 ALH TDI standard 90hp (147,000miles)

Straight through exhaust (no cat or boxes)

EGR valve removed

evry mod (increases fueling)

boost valve

got it to 118.9 hp and 225ft/lb of torque

then added.216mm injector nozzles

now aprox 130hp

still on stardand map, in need of a remap

Home made quick shift

Lowered on Jamex coilovers

rear lights and side indicators tinted

4 spot lights on bumper

debadged

was on wolfrace alloys but now on steelys while i respray alloys

Also fitted is a CB radio with 5ft stinger ariel and a boost gauge

When i first got it car start off completely standard. (got no pics)

soon turned into this:

was like that for a year, then changed back to steel wheels while alloys got a respray and lowered car 80mm

nice to to see something different but I'm not a fan of the wheels or the lights on the grille

Love it! Its crazy awesome!

Get rid of the lights in the front, looks wierd! Put the alloys back on and then give it a GOOD wash, inside and outside. That can make a car look 1000 times better!

And what the F*** is the huge antenna, and the radio inside the car for?

Its a CB radio, a few of my mates have them in their cars. They are like the radios truckers use to contact each other.

alloys are off back on this week or next

without the spot lights the headlights are crap so i think ill keep them plus i like to be different, not mant people have spots on cars.

and ye its a CB radio alot of my mates have them so we can all talk to each other when were out and about. Also i like the look of the big aerial on top of the car

looks cool, dont like the lights on the front and needs a good clean, also whats going on with the radio thing inside

  • 1 month later...

I like it mate. Used to have spots on my old rover, perfect for flashing all the dicks on the road and very useful on the tiny lanes I always end up driving down...

Was thinking of putting some oblong spots behing the grill on my 'loon if theres room.

d.

this is different in a good way :)

thanks. ye the lights are good, people soon turn theirs down when i give them a blast of mine.

different is what I'm after, dont see many polo estates never mind lowered ones with spot lights lol

I like this. Looks cool.

What is the ride like on such a long car that low on budget coilies?

What is the difference between the 90 and 110 bhp model TDi? I know the turbos are slightly different (variable vane turbo on the 110 model) but is it to do with the mapping? Or are the injector nozzles bigger on the 110bhp model?

Will you have to upgrade the clutch following a remap or will it be ok as standard?

breaker breaker 1-9!

The ride is actually quite good, little bit harder than standard but its still comfortable.

The difference is in the nozzle size and the mapping, the turbos are the same (vnt15).

Ye ill most probably need a stronger clutch with a remap as it will be around 140-145hp
