find a garage with a 'cheetah' by far the best and safest way to fit stretch tyres.

165/50's on a 7 will just pop on like any other tyre, it may look like a large stretch but it's most certainly doesn't need a cheetah!

Take them to your local tyre fitter, pay your extortionate fee and walk out, simple as that.

lol, my 165/50's didn't have a chance of going on a rim normally... Not a chance in hell will the bead seal against the rim using normal compressed air! Local tyre fitters wouldn't touch them either as they are pretty far outside normal limits for the tyre, 195/205 is what should normally be on a 7'' rim!

This were the stretch mine had!

i have the same tyres on my 7" rims - they had to be cheetah'd because of the dip where the split rim faces meet. my backs which are 185/45/15 on an 8 just went on normally and was just the same amount of stretch

well i needed mine to be cheeta'd on. tried tyre softener/ brake cleaner/ hair spray etc and didnt work, even tried usin seat covers to get 1 side beaded to no avail, but then again it was bridgestones i have fitted, seemingly nankangs are easier to fitas they're abit softer :s

I had 165 50 15 nankangs on a 7 inch rim o

and they went on like a normal tyre no effort needed at all but it depends on what rim it is aswell as the rim beading can be in different postions. I have a set of 165 45 15 nankangs brand new never done a mile if you are interested as I was going to use them on my 8 inch wide schimdt moderlines but it's abit much on 8's though plus got the weight of a vr6 so didn't wanna risk it lol.

so many ways.

- heat the tyre up

- when the tyre is on the rim put a ratchet strap round the tread

- wrap the gap between the lip and the bead with shrink wrap then inflate

- you'll be surprised at what difference taking the tyre off and putting it back will do

- physically pull the tyre apart before putting it on the rim

thats just a few.

just get on with it. stop being lazy.
