Mk3 GT Coupe 1991

Featured Replies

I am advertising this on behalf of my brother as I probably know more, technically, about the car than him. We both wan't the car to go to a good home, hence advetising it on here first.

Mileage- 149k

Service History- Yes, extensive. Massive folder full of reciepts.

Mot- 12 months was done nearly a month ago now though, but passed without an advisory

Tax- will come with 6 months

Spec:

Exterior- Clear Front indicators, tinted side repeaters, tinted rear lights, G40 beesting aerial, badgeless front grille. Armour door plates. It has a tilting glass sunroof which isn't original.

Interior- modified door panels with speakers

Engine- Induction kit, heat shield, chip, de-cat, G40 standard exhaust

Suspension- Weitek Ultra GT shocks and springs, approx 40mm lowering

Brakes- Vented brembo max grooved front discs, ferodo DS fast road pads, goodridge braided brake hoses

Wheels- 15" Sebrings with 165/65R15 Bridgestone Potenzas (all loads of tread or near new)

Security- Alarm, immobiliser & central locking.

Good points:

This is a very good car overall and needs little work doing to it. There is extensive history and all the important jobs such as cambelt, water pump, headgasket etc have been done over the years.

I will dig through the invoices/reciepts and get some info on when they were done.

I have replaced nearly every engine sensor on it, put new thermostat, housing and coolant whilst my brother has owned it. Oil has been changed regular with synta silver and genuine filters.

It has been resprayed to a pretty good standard, I wouldn't call it perfect, but it is very good. The battery tray is clean with not even a hint of surface rust. I will put a pic up along with the engine

bay, soon.

Bad points:

While the bodywork is very good, there is a slight bubbling of rust on the tailgate just next to the o/s rear light. I will get a closer pic to show this. There is some paint spare left over from when

it was resprayed a while back. The wheels aren't perfect, the paint is coming away slightly on the very outer lip of the wheels. If you wanted them perfect they would need refurbising or touching up.

The clutch is a bit juddery on the biting point, but there is no slipping. It has been like this since he's owned it and hasn't posed a problem with reliability. I would consider having a new clutch and a

flywheel skim. The throttle is a bit stiffer than normal, a new cable would sort this out, they are only about £10.
