next scottish meet

Featured Replies

50hp doesn't like 60, 4k+ rpm isnt great for a motor for a long time. Easy enough to stick to 60 if its a worry though.

If my car kept went allongside a bunch of other cars, ranging from 58 to 160hp, driving to a meet shouldnt be an issue.

So Aberdeen lads? Able to have a meet this month maybe?

14th Nov is a long way away.

Well my car does 4krpm at 80mph which is the speed I hover around on a journey to a meet and its never caused a problem. If your car is well serviced and mechanically sound it will be fine.

Aberdeen is good for me and so is the 14th November.

I might be a bit pushed for a meet before that, got an MOT to pass soon and I haven't had my hole in a month so need to get that sorted, thats two weekends taken up right there.

jeezo :disgust:

I didnt ask you to change it, I only asked why they were up north.

Well I can pretty much garantee the next one will be either Dundee or further south. So the most you will have to travel is 60 miles.

Thanks Kwijibo :) I'll try stick around on here long enough to attend.

you dont have to stick about... kwijibo and toby come to the meets where ever thay are. so thats why the meet is up there way. and most of the meats are "that far north" because thats where most of us come from.. if people from more south cood be bothered to drive more than 2mile to a meet we wood have one down there way. dont see why we shoud have one on your door step just to ceap you happy..

edit: i think i am going to strugel to get to a meet this month as well got a lot on this month..

Mmmmm, I will have to check and see if I am 'in country' for the 14th Nov.

Deffo not about for the 5th...Dahn Sahth to see Peter Kay Live at the O2 arena that night!!!!

Thinking about it the 14th is the day I fly back home so FAIL on that one this time chaps, sorry. Aberdeen would have been good for me as well.

Next year then

I'm happy with any date!

Easy ladieeees  Dundee is always great for me, only about 15 odd miles, I'm there most weekends anyway. 8-)

More Dubs the better anyway (:

We are normally pretty welcoming of new people. Right up til they moan that the meets aren't on their doorstep. You aren't the first hence why people are a bit quick to bite.

I see Toby, thanks!

Infact I didn't moan, I merely asked why? And I got an answer.

I'll be the first to say sorry to you dubbin*

Since I've been on here and going to meets I've seen loads of Scottish people come and go on here and nearly every single one has lived more than 30 miles from Dundee. And everytime a Dundee meet is posted up a new member will always pipe up with the same thing basically saying "There is a car park right outside my house, why not meet there?"

We always explain that Dundee is the most popular venue as it is most central to everyone and in theory its only fair a new member come to us first before we go to them, 9 times out of 10 they agree but guess what happens...they don't turn up. We hang about for ages waiting for them, for no result then they come up with some lame excuse the next day.

Now I dunno about anyone else but I've gotten to the point where I think it would be easier to organise a meet by just calling everyone and arranging it over the phone as its always the same ones that turn up although there is the rare exception.

So Dubbin* again I'm sorry for having a go but hopefully you can see where we are all coming from. Basically if you turn up to a meet that we organise then there is no harm in you suggesting a Falkirk meet or whatever if you think it would be a good evening.

Also just to add, Scottish VAG (Or Scottish GOLF as I like to call it) is just a big joke, I remember me Toby and Ross turned up to an Ayrshire meet once and just got completely shunned.

Jesus Steven don't apologise with an essay. She's been put in her place now, and can't wait to meet our friendly bunch - it's all good.

but guess what happens...they don't turn up. We hang about for ages waiting for them, for no result then they come up with some lame excuse the next day.

Woops? I'm still gutted I didnt make it to the last Dundee meet. Definatly make the next one, hopfully in the 9n (:

I'm alwyas up for a drive though, I like driving, could always meet up with some of you;s on the way down if there's a meet further south.

Lol :) I don't mind being put in my place, especially when its needed but to be fair I was only asking....

If you guys look back to the Dundee meet thread, I actually said I was going to come along but my car was actually getting a timing belt fitted and I couldn't really pass up that to come to a meet.

I would actually really like to come to a meet as I haven't actually been to any polo meets/events yet, but 154 miles one way....over 300 mile round trip is quite a lot :(

Am going to try and make this one guys, its on my door step only 35miles away or sumit. Its just the dates the meets are am always busy or the cars getting something done to it, but i "Think" the 14th should be ok :)

also gonna try and make more Dundee meets too :)

Off topic - Toby do you happen to work near tesco in Inverurie? i always see a white mk2 in the distance and wonder if it might be yours or not?
