Hi oh knowledgable ones

Looking at painting a set of rocco storm alloys I have white but have just been given a quote of £125 to have em blasted and powder coated white (which I think sounds like a good price?) .. was originally just gonna get em blasted then paint them myself but at that price am torn now...

so basically whats gonna be the better/ more dureable finish? powder coated vs polyurethane paint

powder coat is more dureable, but if it gets chipped, it'll soon lift. on the other hand paint will chip easier, but its far easier to repair.

personally i would get them blasted and powder coated as that sounds not a bad price... people always say they will get chipped but i think youve got as much chance of stone ships as you'll have with paint.

Yeah I'm think of going with the powder coating, thats £25 a wheel incl shotblasting (I have 5). especially as I was probably gonna be looking at around £50-60 for paints,pre-paint, sandpaper etc and then they'd probably get a better finish than me

Why not have 'em shot-blasted and then spray painted?

Most of the quotes i have had for powder coating 15" alloys has been £45 a wheel!! So £25 a wheel is a bargain!! Is this a normal price or mates rates etc?! and where!! :)

Sounds like mates rates tbf. Cheapest I found was city powder coaters in Brum who charge £20 a wheel very good job too. did my Belfast kerbed 18s which were badly scuffed

40quid per wheel at 2 places near me....

he did my barrels on my splits for 20 per inner.

i would suggest that 125 is great value, if i could find somewhere locally at that price i would jump in it.

get them to show you examples of work.

no this is their normal price, its a company called k and n, got one branch in totton and another in porchester

not mates rates, thats just what they charge, @ £45 a wheel I'd be expecting a full refurb and colourmatch, the above prices are for blasting and powdercoating (no scuff removal etc)
