Anyone else having trouble selling cars?

Featured Replies

Its been up for 2 weeks or so now on here, edition and PH and not even a timewaster has emailed me!

I expected silly offers, PX and allsorts. But I've had nothing?

Anyone else struggling to sell? Bad time?

I've just made a 150% proffit on a car I've just sold, was only on the bay 3 days :-D

So nope, no problem. But then i dont tend to add scene tax when selling stuff, I've not seen your ad but have you overpriced it at all?

yeah but then it depends on what the cars up for, 400 quids no money. Even 1k. So cars around that price will sell fast. Not saying yours was a cheap car like.

But compair a car up for 400 quid and 8k for example. No one's spending big money at the moment it seems :/

3400 its up for.

Had a 350z at work for sale. Took 6-7 weeks to sell and we had it up at a rediculously low price.

Just hold tight mate try not to reduce it as long as its worth that price.

yeah, i'm not letting it go for peanuts lol

Yeah thats a good point actually, i think once prices get to like 3k then the market is huge, with the amount of people looking to buy a ten+ year old warm hatch, quite small :-(

It's strange, some cars are shifting like nothing has changed, then there is some up for nothing. And no interest...

Which is making my decision for my next car difficult, since I'm planning of buying a new car for 6 months, then moving on. But who is saying I will be able to shift the car on...

exactly, i took the plunge and got the TT thinking oh i'll shift mine in a few weeks. It'll only take one view!

But now i'm stuck with two cars on the drive, one not insured. If it lasts much longer the TT's up forsale and whichever one sells i'll have the other till that sells. Then get something again!

Truth is that its a 10 year old Polo lowered on £100 coilovers with £200 worth of leather seats which don't match the door cards.

Dump the coilovers and interior and face the fact if you get more than 2 and half your doing well.

the coilovers cost 710 quid?

^Ouch.. why so much man, I'm all up for doing cars up but i wouldnt spunk money away on such things like that. Bad it does seem a bad time atm to sell cars.

why not in my opinion?

Why do people buy KW?

Kw's were over a grand! So a diecent set of FK's (even though there a mismatch of koni bits!)

I wasnt just going to put some crappy philj kit on it because i used it everyday!

Just the market in general I think mate, took me a few weeks to sell my S3.

yeah think about the time of year! everyones bin on holidays etc and no moneys! i haven't been on holiday and i dont have any brass lol i have seen your ad and the only reason i haven't replied is its pointless to say ill buy it when I'm broke! i swear i would buy it as i know youve looked after it and I'm after a gti soon! hang in there usually picks up around november then dies off till bout feb march from my experience

I have my old 1.0E 6N2 for sale right now locally. Had two phonecalls and one viewing since Friday, kinda poor but I'll see how it goes.

Its shit, thats why its not selling Neil ;)

Nah, i think you should keep and do what you were telling me :D

sold my mk1 caddy within seconds of deciding i wanted polo, no time waster ether.

well chuffed

Been trying to sell my R32 for a couple of months now, only had a few timewasters at first wanting to swap but then i've had no interest at all. Its priced pretty much the same as others yet has lower mileage and hasn't been messed about with but had no interest at all recently.

had a mk3 vr6 highline with the daddy vortex charger kit on it (3k alone) car was tatty but ran perfectly and had receipts for 8K, was up for almost 2 months for £1500 NO OFFERS 1 bloke came out to look at it and kept trying to knock the price, bugged me everyday until i decided to split it. got 1k for the charger set up the next day! put the car back to standard and got 1k for that a couple of days later too.

maybe it's modifieds not selling well. :?

Could well be that.

I know i wouldnt want to buy a already modded car, i like making them my own from scratch.

Then again, Neil's isnt that modded.

£2.50 and a packet of Polo's?

£300 and you insure it for a year?

No?

Oh well... at least you've now had some interest :)

Me too, although I'm not trying hard to sell mine at the moment. I've been offered a swap for a Seat turbo plus £2800 their way....no thanks! I'm pennyless.

What an absolute penis you are!

Someone will buy it mate, have you got a note in your window saying it's for sale?

I was trying to sell my first car on all the websites, Autotrader, Pistonheads etc but nothing happened after a week of waiting, then my grandad put a note in the window and I parked it on the street, and within 3 hours it was gone!

Split the wheels off and sell them.

It makes it a lot less cash for someone to pull out and then they can put their own wheel mark on it.

Sure I'll have this much fun selling mine when i get around to it.
