One thing that i always remember from the mags back in the 90s was a story of a girl restoring an Escort Cosworth that had been fire bombed, anyone old skools remember it?. It had been petrol bombed and the insurance wouldnt pay out or something IIRC, so she spent months and thousands of pounds bringing the burnt out car back to life, ended up being sprayed canary yellow. It was in Max power i think, like a progress report every issue

I cant remember, i was only about 13/14 iirc. Just as i was starting getting "into" modified cars :-)

I remember quite afew of the cars posted up. Still occasionally find an old revs/max power mag with the pics in at work. I probably know someone who might still have afew old skool copies laying around

Although those delta kits for the escorts are horrible, i wanted one when i first passed my test (the orange one - pic of rear end) but then i got a polo so the idea went out the window.

Escort Combis for me, hard as nails.

My dad knew someone with one, we used to go to his Unit all the time. RS Turbo engine IIRC, I know it had NOS though.

most of the cars for the early to mid 90s looked pretty plain bodywork-wise, just tended to have lairy paint or stripes of some sort and a set of 15" wheels, 16s if you were minted.

mk2 fiesta populars came with clear rear lights and whale-tail spoiler too, FACT! sadly i couldnt find a pick of a mk2, but found a mk3 instead

makes me chuckle when you younger peeps bang on about how cool the wide arch kitted cars from the 90s are. back in the 90s those kind of cars were generally owned by people with no taste.

it wasnt till the late 90s that the really crazy bodykits started to his the modified car scene, then everyone went crazy for 17" rims and jap style bumpers
