Not sure weather anyone will know on here, but i said I'd ask.

My parents have just bought an 07 plate Golf TDI, lovely car, just one problem, it only came with one key fob thing.

I know from VW a new fob thing will be stupid money, so the question is, can you get just a key made up, so if you do lose the fob, at least you can get in and drive the car?

I may be wrong but doesn't the fob contain the immobilizer chip thing aswell? So the car won't start unless it's nearby / in the ignition? Therefore just a key won't work.
