leak in the boot

Featured Replies

Hi all

My 97 Polo 5 door is leaking water in the boot.

I've had a look under the spare wheel and it appears its the blanked off holes (rubber bungs) deteriorating causing the leak.

Is there any problem if I weld over these holes to seal them in? Why are they there if they are blanked off?

Cheers

Russ

I have same problem =/ and now its pissing it down the windscreen keeps misting up non stop, helllp =) Water seems to be coming in near the n/s/r light =s

i have this problem on the offside rear lol, keeps leaking onto the wires around my remote locking and making that go funny

i think the holes are there so if there was a massive leak it would collect in the wheel well and you just remove the bungs to let it out,

check this for a hole lol the bung just falls straight through!:
