6n front wing removal

Featured Replies

how do you remove the front wing on a 6n?

my passenger side wing is battered and out of shape and just want to replace it with a second hand/new one.

is it welded on anywhere? thanks.

Nope not welded on! Take front bumpers off! Take out indicators and unbolt the grill surround bolt underneath it, undo the four bolt in the engine bay then take out the arch line (torque bits) then there's 1/2 bolts attatching the wing to the bulkhead! Then undo the two bolt behind where the bumper goes and I think that's it!

thanks for the fast reply!

what about the bit of the wing that is near the door when its shut? is that not welded, bolted.I've had a look with the door open and cant really see anything obvious.the is some small ''dots'' going down the inside of the wing near the door when its open,i assumed these were spot welds.

when you take the arch liner out theres a few bolts which go down where the door shuts. maybe bonded too

thankyou :-)

thankyou :-)

Two bolts at the rear edge of the wing - accessible when the liner is out - the bottom one is easy to see, the other is about the same height as the indicator repeater. don't forget the two bolts at the upper edge of the front panel. You don't need to take the wheel off- but jacking it up will make the job significantly easier.

If you're handy with a spanner, you can have to old wing off in about 30mins allowing for a bit of faffing.....

It is possible to leave the bumper in place to save a bit of time, but may be easier to take the headlight out as well/instead.

excellent! thanks

you dont even have to take bumper completely off....

i didn't....

U need to get up under the car though if possible. Makes it easier.

I just found that where it was bonded it was a complete bastard to get off, but if youve got a good knife or something u can do a wing in about 15 mins tops
