Well they don't do any for a 6N2 Polo either but they still fit.

If it's just a blue plastic disc for only 12 quid or so it'll probably fit any VAG car especially as it's just a disc with no specific bolt holes etc?

yeah, Thats just a stub axle on the back though.

With the TT theres a fat driveshaft going through the middle lol. So i'm not entierly sure if they'd work!

Might have to strip it down and have a look. I'm correcting 3 degree's of negative camber that TT's suffer from when lowered. Hopefully..if my theorys right, Use the plastic camber shim upside down to counter the camber and get it to something more acceptable like 1.5 degree's

But I've a feeling i'm going to be buying some 300 quid adjustable rear tie bars!

can you not work out the angles and dimensions you need and get a 1 off pair machined up mate?

i was just thinking about this. If there's anything i could manufacture at work.

Think i'll look into it, But i'm lazy lol.

Probably just buy a set of tie bars and then i'm not messing with any of that, Just 300 on some shinny bits you cant see doesnt sound attracting. But then again it saves on tyres at 180 quid a corner

wack some washers in the top hahaha

i'm not guna lie, that crossed my mind

oh dear haha

This is what I like to hear

There must be a bit of adjustment in the IRS? Seeing as the TTs barely ever load up the rear tyres, as long as you get the rear toe as close to standard as possible, you shouldn't notice any worse tyre wear than your average front drive car running rear camber.

But really, adjustable tie bars are the best option.

what rear suspension setup does a tt have?

Nope. All TT's suffer from it. Most of the new awd VW's have a little adjustment on the inner tie bar bolt. As in its offset so turning it moves the tie bar in-board or out-board. But not the TT for some reason! Its a common problem when lowering them, Hence Forge have brought out some adjustable tie bars to overcome this problem. Theres some adjustable bush's floating about with offset holes but as to wether these work or not. No one knows!

Unfortunatly with it being 3 degree's You do notice it wearing the inside of the tyres. It does transfer power to the back quite abit when accelerating, and cornering rounderbouts "enthusisastically" in the wet

what rear suspension setup does a tt have?

Its fully independant. Springs sat in a spring cup with dampers on the back. similar to the new polo's

draw me a picture hah

i'll go take you one!

voila

the adjustable tie bar would replace that solid bar where the top of the drop link is.

and a picture of her fat bottom and the camber i'm talking about

does that top arm you said you could change for a tie rod have a bush through it?

  • Author

it does indeed, and before you say its worn. It isnt lol.

That can be a cause of the problem. As some suffer from it at standard ride height!

Like i said, you can get bush's with offset holes. But god knows how good they are. Ideally i'm looking for about 4mm of movement to correct that 3 degree's at the wheel.

you can get bolts and nuts, which have like a washer attached to them off centre,

the washer near the bolt head and the flange of the nut sit in like locators on the arm where they would mate up against.

if the hole in the arm was large, to allow movement, you can simply rotate the bolt to get the desired camber etc.

understand what i mean? lol

Yeah i do. Thats what new 4wd vw's have to give them adjustability. Just the TT doesnt!

Think its going to have to be tie bars! Biggest load of gayness ever.

yeah have them on landrovers lol ;)

make your own tiebars :)

could you not you cut the tie bar and weld it?

i wouldn't recommend it but it would work

you could get busy and make your own, and then just use either end off your current tie bar :)

i dont think i could trust my own welding whilst i'm leathering it round a corner

The TT is 1.5 tonnes you know!
