If i'm honest I don't think rusty bonnets look that bad, i just think the car had potential to be nice and clean.

kuszpit i like to be different right or wrong reasons, after all you will either remember the car for its ugly bonnet or is unique styling's that no1 round my area has! it is due to have its belly dragging on the ground asap mate! plus the wellers are needing some nice black stretchy rubber on em :) well i wasn't sure on the bonnet at first but it really has grown on me! but i do have the old one for when it does get old... most people believe a car must have no scratches and every piece of paintwork must be shining for it to look good but i disagree i like to be different as u can tell! but cheers for the constructive criticism i dont mind it when people say things like that! but when people say "ruining perfectly good cars" it pisses me off just cos my car doesn't look like every other car in this forum doesn't mean u can insult it! but yeah i did want opinions and i ot em but i take everything with a pinch of salt and everyone's entitled to an opinion

Everyone did this 2 years ago? Rusty bonnets are, and never will be different. If anything it's following the crowd even more! I don't understand why you would want to make a tidy little car, look crap by putting a rusty bonnet on it? Could anyone elaborate on this?

Just because of a rusty bonnet the car looks 'crap' and 'ruined' according to some. Its gotta feel pretty bad posting up a pic of your car just for everyone to slate it,

I know you have to expect people not to like it and say so but calling it crap and stuff just seems a little harsh to me. I dont mean to come across as a dick lads.

And yeah, everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, just like I voiced mine.

I know you say youre trying to be different but rusty bonnets arent different - they were done years ago and faded out for a reason

Its really hard not to be disheartened but when everyones telling you that it doesnt really work it might be wise to listen.

The paint looks well good, with the old bonnet back on and lowered over those wheels, I'm sure ull be impressed!

cheers for all the input guys i appreciate it... rite well i remain by my decision of the rusty bonnet atm, but that doesn't mean i wont change it in the future, the cars gotta be lowered with its nice new shoes on before i make a final decision, but can anyone understand the point to it? i know I've said this before, but i dont want it to look the same as all the others round my area, so instead of slating it can anyone think of better ideas for it to look different??

If its rust ftw then rust it properly and stop pussying about with the bonnet - you obviously know that rusting it is ruining it, otherwise you wouldve rusted the lot and gone all out.

However, as usual with the "rat" cars coming out these days it looks crap (dont say thats the point of ratlook because i know the point of ratlook and what proper rat looks like)

But, its your car at the end of the day. Do what you like, but lets face it - black bonnet, slammed over those wheels would look mint

ha but it wasn't my plan for rat! i completely see where your coming from! i bought this of a mate (heavy rat look fan) and my plan was to sand and spray matte black but obviously i thought id see what it looks like on... i liked it but was still deciding, so posted photos to see the opinions, they were negative and after taking all your comments into consideration i went outside about 5mins ago and took a hard look at my car, and i agree, if you going to rat it, do it properly! but that's not what i want to do! I've had a lot of confusion with my car recently on plans for it! but i can safely say.............. but how do people feel about a matte black bonnet or maybe a matte purple? yellow tinted front lights and indicators, red tint rear lights, the wellers on and her belly dragging on the ground?

also i had an idea of white stickers on the drivers side of the front bumper, possibly planets/moons/stars? to give it a bit of difference?
