You shouldn't need to change the bonnet - there's a piece of trim that runs along the front edge of the bonnet on the square headlamp models that can be fitted to your mk2 bonnet. Save you some painting...

Yeah, it's just a piece of plastic trim that sits against the very front of the bonnet and covers up those cutouts towards the outer edges. The parent's classic has one -

damn thats an old picture, and hella clean.

the strips are often damaged in removable, and i would say, are rarer than the lights themselves, i have one, thats currently unfitted, just waiting for me to pull my finger out!

Yes they are about, rather flimsy though. The two i have have different amounts of damage. Definately rarer than the headlights.

They are also different to aftermarket eyebrow spoilers available for the mk2

Might be easier to get a good bodyshop to extend your bonnet in metal instead...

cheers for the help fellas. i guess none of you are willing to sell yours then? ha :)

Best way to remove it is to get some heat on it. I had to take mine off prior to the respray and some gentle persuasion with the aid of a heat gun was all that was required. :)
