After much thought and deliberation, I miss old skool cars. I love this GTi to pieces, but it's just not what I'm currently looking for. I'm an old skool kinda guy...

About the car:

Service History:

*Full Service History - All documented and present.

*Only 2 of the most recent MOT's certificated (Due to VW performing the rest from 2001 to 2008 all documented) - But all mileage is documented at least yearly through VW receipts and history from 2001 to 2009.

*VW/Skoda service history up until 2008 (A VW garage turned into a Skoda garage and it kept getting serviced there after the change)

*Serviced by an independent VW garage specialist with genuine parts in 2008/9.

*Serviced myself therefore after with receipts and photo's to prove, using genuine VW parts or better.

Other Information:

*The car is run on V-Power only and can easily achieve 40mpg if driven carefully, expect mid-low 30's on normal runs with a bit of a heavy foot..

*Pulls very very well, VVT kicks in as it should and sounds schweeeeeet!

*Vagcom fault code free with a recent printout to prove.

*I have owned the car since April and bought it with the intention of keeping her for a long long time and have spent £1000+ on parts alone getting her up to scratch and running nice, I am pretty anal with looking after cars and spend money on the right area's - making them run well!

*The car hasn't let me down down once since ownership (done 5,000 miles-ish), all the above money was spent through personal preferences of a nice running car rather than the car letting me down and me having to fork out. Prevention rather than repair!

*Please don't be put off by the mileage, the car is very tight and drives faultlessly. I even get comments of fellow GTi owners on how nice it drives compared to theirs.

*No gearbox issues whatsoever, no crunches, leaks, whines, bangs, selects gears as it should etc etc..

*Comes with the original service book, information booklet etc, in the original wallet

*I have an original genuine brochure from 2001 showing the Polo specs and information, including the GTi.

Engine and gearbox - including any recent work:

*Standard GTi Engine bar BMC CDA Carbon Fibre enclosed air filter and relevant air ducting (May 2010)

*Brakes work as they should - Nice and firm pedal and stops on a penny

*TA Teknics shocks and springs with new top mounts - 60mm (2008)

*Throttle cable/pedal re-aligned and parts (Genuine VW) replaced to fix the common low pedal problem (August 2010)

*Pedal Box Recall performed in 2006... No proof of this as I was told by Leeds VW (Elland Road) over the phone.. Any one can call up with the Reg to any VW to confirm this.

Tyres & Wheels:

*15x7 Lenso BSX (2007/8)

*195/45/15 tyres, Toyo Proxies up front, Firestone rear. The front have worn on the inner edge due to negative camber which has now been corrected, the rest of the front tyres are good with lots of tread - Still MOT passable. Rears have loads of tread left.

*Carbon fibre style BBS center caps.

Bodywise/Exterior:

*Osram Cool Blue Xenon D2S Bulbs 5000k - upgrade from the standard Osram 4300k as supplied by VW (June 2010)

*White LED Sidelights and Osram Night Breaker Main full beams (June 2010)

*White LED foglights and number plate bulbs (September 2010)

*Silvertec front indicator bulbs (2010)

*Brand new in bag, Genuine VW front splitter (not yet fitted, I can fit or supply to the new buyer)

*MK4 golf GTI anniversary red style badges, front and back, I have one spare in case one get's stolen. (May 2010)

*De-wipered rear (still have the wiper to re-fit if you wish)

*The car cleans up exceptionally well and shines beautifully.

*I paid £300 in April 2010 getting all dints removed so the car is 100% dint free

*Front Aero Wipers fitted

*UK Font pressed metal plates, front and back - Legal (are stamped for the correct reflectiveness and have the company name and postcode as required by law).

*Dubmeister plate surrounds, front and back

*I also have the original number plates and VW plate surrounds to be included in the sale

Interior:

*Genuine VW boot mech/microswitch (September 2010)

*standard GTi Interior

*Boot light works as it should

*All Lights work on the dash so no hidden surprises!

*All Electrics work (widows, mirrors climate etc)

*All interior bulbs work (For buttons etc)

Bad points

Bodywork

*It has a few marks here and there, mainly on the passenger front/rear arch were a previous owner scraped against something, it's been touched up and isn't too bad, about 10x1cm.

*Passenger door has a a 50p sized mark, what looks like someone has scrubbed it with a scourer!!?? It's not gone through the paint and I'm confident a machine polish can fix this.

*Front bonnet has some slight corrosion on the very front/underside, about 0.5x1cm, from what looks like it's rubbed on the underside from closing the bonnet.

*It has the odd stone chip here and there, mainly front/rear bumper.

Interior

*One small cigarette burn in the driver seat - This is not from me as I don't smoke. The burn is in the corner and is hard to see unless you look for it.

*Interior grab handles have marks on, like all 6n2's!

*Doesn't come with the CD changer as it wasn't in the car when I bought it

Running gear

*The front brakes make a grinding noise and squeek on soft braking. I'm confident stripping and copper greasing the relevant parts will fix this as there is years of life in them still.

*The brakes also need a lick of red paint as the old has fadded/come off.

*Note: Reading the brakes section back, it looks like the brakes are bad, they are not.. They work as they should, nice and firm with good stopping power.

Engine

*The exhaust rattles slightly when stationary and on a hill facing down.. Never bothered me enough to sort this.

*The rocker cover was faded with flaking paint. I have re-painted this red, but it's not the smoothest of jobs

*PLEASE NOTE: I have made the car sound much worse than it actually is, I just HATE going to view cars described as mint/immaculate and turning out they have marks and issues obviously hidden from me by the seller. All in all the car is in exceptional condition, inside, outside and mechanically for the age. I just like being honest, stops time wasting.. This way you know the crack, I know the crack and there are no nasty surprises when you arrive for a viewing.

MK3 Golf GTi 16v - preferably a 20th anniversary 16v in silver or black. Or Windsor blue metallic, black or silver 16v.

Corrado 2.0 16v - not to fussed about the colour of corrados.

Corrado 2.9 VR6 - colour as above.

MK1 Golf GTi Cabriolet - Must be a cabby and a GTi. Must be a late spec with the karman kit, preferably electric windows and roof too.

Audi A4 (B5 chassis) 1.8t Quattro Sport - Any colour, must be good condition.

Audi A4 (B5 Chassis) 2.8 V6 Quattro - Would have to be a nice one over the 1.8T.

Audo Coupe 2.0 16v - Must be nice

It's like brand new (comes with box/instructions, cage and all wires) and compliments the colour scheme/dash perfectly.. Plays from an Ipod/USB stick too!... Ideally I'd want £100 extra for this.. Which is half the price of a new unit.

This is a cool car owned by the most anal car enthusiast you could imagine. Nothing is ever good enough for this man and this car has wanted for nothing and has been improved throughout his ownership.

I made the mistake of letting him vacuum the car outside my house one time. I managed to drop and refill the coolant and completely clean my car in the same time he was doing such a hardcore job of it
