Radio loses settings

Featured Replies

I have a Mk4 Polo Classic. I changed the radio about a year ago (still had the original radio/cassette in). Since I changed it the radio kept losing it's settings when the car was turned off and after about 20 seconds when the immobiliser kicked in. That radio packed up so I fitted a new head unit (different make) today and it does the same thing. I have switched the red and yellow wires around but it still does the same thing. Any ideas how this could be solved? Thanks.

i had a simlar problem in another car,i switched the red and yellow like you and still nothing.

i eventually got it to work by reconnecting the red to the red and the yellow to the yellow and then connecting both the red and the yellow wires, where the metal connectors are, together with electric tape and it worked perfect.

worth a try.

I have the same problem in my 6n2 but its when I take the key out of the ignition all the settings are lost. I can turn the car on, set up all the stations, the eq and all that, turn the car off and the settings will stay as long as I don't take the key out...

The radio is new (had a cheap none standard unit in when I bought it) Kenwood KDC W4544U.

(Thought I'd post on here as it's related instead of starting a new thread if that's cool)

Cheers.

Dude swapping the red and the yellow cable on your iso block works on a 6n2
