Central Locking confusion

Featured Replies

Yesterday my central locking wouldnt work. I would put the key in the lock and it would turn and it would go down then when i would pull the key out the lock would shoot back up and unlock and then the lock wouldnt turn at all. On the driver and passenger side.

So i locked it over night by climbing over the passenger side and locking the driver from the inside and this locked all of them.

Today it would lock with the key again but now it has started locking itself randomly. while driving etc. and it wont lock unless i lock it.. unlock it then it would central lock

sounds like you may have a air leak in the vac pipes from the pump.if it is this then you need to trace all pipes from the pump to the doors.i think they go under rear seats and they also go to the petrol cap.just listen for a ''hiss'' of air and repair it.

could also be the wiring connector to the pump, have a look in the rear of the car under the first aid cover and check the plug is in the pump properly.only other thing it may be is a dodgy pump? if you replace the pump you will need to get one with the same serial number as yours for it to work!

hope this helps.
