My local scrap yard is shite! They never have what I'm looking for! I went today, but was a bit late, they were closed so I'm going tomorrow again.

But cheers for advice anyway, bud. :)

The car has been taken to body shop to do the 'cosmetic mods' which I told you about in 'Future Plans'.

I'll post the pics up, once the car will be picked up.

cant wait to see the 'cosmetic mods'

I can't wait either :) Am well excited about it, but I am a bit worried that it will not have the full effect until I lower the car. Will see, though, will see.

I've picked the car up from the bodyshop, but it has not been polished after the painting yet, and I'm not happy with the imperfections, but I was told it's all gonna go after the polishing so will see the result by the end of the weekend. Smoothing is done well, but painting at the moment is not what I expected. I'm a bit nervous about it, but all I can do atm is wait. Pictures to follow soon. :)

I have seen the car and the job done on the car is ...not so good. The you can see drops of the coat all around the car :( I'm sorry for Michael because the car is nice. I hope the guy will sort this out and smooth the coat so it looks spot!

I am not happy with the paint job. Like Matus said, all around the car you can see little, but many of drops (which look similar to rubbish stuck onto the panels) and also on the front wing, he put too much paint and it made a bruise. But I went to see the guy earlier on today, and he said its normal and after polishing it's going to disappear. I'll try to take some pictures of them drops, to show you what I mean. :)

Hi mate,

This is not normal after a re-spray. My step-dad is a spray painter and everything he's done for me hasn't come out like that!

He gives me the panels after paint and I normally polish them myself and there fine.

Do not pay this guy until you are happy with the job :)

Cheers

Harry

Here is the image I taken, but I dont have access to a decent camera,so I used my phone. I put circles round the drops.

Well, a bit too late because I already have paid him. But I know him, so it is unlikely that he's going to leave as it. You make it even worse, I'm getting more and more scared!

If it's in the clearcoat it should be fine mate, once it's hardened after a few days it can be sanded down and buffed out.

Tbh though it does look abit like there's silicone in there after looking at the pics.

That's what the painter told me, before polishing he is going to sand the whole car down with 2000 sandpaper. All I can do atm is wait, unfortunately.

Hi everyone,

Haven't posted anything for a while now, but that's because of the hassle with the painter. The car is now done, and the drops I told you about are not there anymore. However, the weather is horrible, raining all the time so there is no way to take pictures. I'll do it as soon as I can.

Here a little update, the postman has delivered these:

Debadged Grill.

And also a set of AeroWipers.

I have bought a set for my friend as well, but he doesn't want them anymore so if anyone would want to buy it off me, just give me a PM. I'm asking what I paid for - £12 posted.

New wheels arrived today! They're 16x7j Audi winters! Going to be mirror polished and black centre caps. Also, I'm going to stretch some 165/40 Nankang's on them! What you all think?

The picture isn't the best, as it's dark. I haven't done anything to wheels yet, just took them out of packaging. They need cleaning, but overall in great condition!

Should be something different, not seen these on a polo yet. You got the adaptors ready?

i like :)

No, I don't yet. I'm getting about 23mm for the front, and 28mm for the rear.

Cheers mate. :)

Looks like a reasonably clean car. I remember when my sister got hers in the same colour as her first car, its a bit scratched and dented now

Well, that's why it went into the body shop. At the moment, it doesn't have a single dent or scratch. :) Will post the pictures as soon as the weather let me.
