nice clean subtle mods... makes me really want a 6n to be honest.

hahahaha just found some old pictures of higgos mk4 which looked very similar lol and also it was a 8v with 16v bumpers....so that would be making a low spec look like a higher spec model ....FAIL!!!!!!!!!!

i had 8v with 16v bumpers before i brought my 6n2 and no one said anythink lol and i use to have standard 8v wich was GLX oem with 16v bumpers

Then I did misunderstand you as well. I though you were saying that all the changes I have made was a waste of money.. The chips and scratches will be repaired before wheels go on anyways. :)

Cheers mate. It's nice to hear goods words about the mods you've done.

Its not a waste of money if your happy? isnt that the whole point? I look forward to the wheels like I said

Yer, you're right. I don't think I wasted any money and I was very happy with the mods. It's not like I could expect the chip and the scratches - it's those things that you can't do anything about but repair. :(

I've picked the wheels from the polishers today. I think the Rainbow did a great job - recommended!

A little update. Decided to get delocked handle for the passenager side. :)

DSC_0060.jpg

The big updates will come after the new year. On Monday, the mechanic is taking the car over to do the cambelt, new fuel pump, and couple of other bits to make sure the engine is how it should be. :)

Happy New Year, everyone!

lovely wheels, this car will come alive when its dropped on the audis 8-)

top work with the wheels mate, keen to see pics on the car

I have few things to do as a priority. And as I am a student and only have a part-time job it will take a bit of time to see the wheels on the car. But hopefully it will all be done ready for Ultimate Dubs 2011. :)

I recently bought coilovers, well - last night ;) They're TaTechnix with 20-120 lowering range.

Here are some pictures taken by the seller:

Apart from that I have changed the cambelt, alternator belt, new thermostat, new distributor cap, new fuel pump, new water pump and few other things. :) Also booked into the bodyshop for Wednesday to fix the massive stonechip on the bonnet and scratches on the roof. Will keep this updated. :)

Here is some progress on the centre caps:

At first, I thought I'll make it all mirror polished but wasn't happy with the outcome. I tried it with 'chrome' foil (just a quick attempt to see how it will come out) but the whole wheel looked too empty, so I tried something else today - sprayed them black as intended in the first place.

Here are the pics:

and here are the black centres:

What'you all think?

wheels looking tidy mate!

I think they would look better maybe with the black centres polished too, so the whole rim was polished.

They look amazing regardless though!

Thanks for comments, means a lot.

black centres polished too

Not sure what exactly you mean?

Just if the black part of the centre cap was polished sliver like the rest of the wheel is, so the whole wheel was completely silver and polished.

you get me?

  • Author

Yer, I get you know. That's what I wanted to do but atm the centre cap is made out of plastic, and to actually replace it with aluminium would make a lot of hassle! lol

So, decided to keep it plastic and spray it some nice colour. :D
