weird insurance Question

Featured Replies

HI folks,

Well am in a weird situation.

I pay £358 a month for my insurance but i am just away to take on a vr6 conversion in a mk2 and going to be running that whilst i get the polo resprayed and save for its engine conversion.

But to fund the projects a little better i am thinking of stopping the policy for a little bit, so i was wondering how this would affect no claims? coz atm i am about 4 months short of a years no claims with Adrian Flux, So if i was to stop my policy for not actually using the car would i just get nothing, or would there be a way of continuing my policy from were i left off.

also is it right with adrian flux that you get 3 months of the policy where you dont pay anything as its year is pretty much paid over 9 months?

i have a couple of other questions but are so weird its actually quite hard to make them make sense lol so i will leave them just now.

any help would be good.

Luke :)

I think if you cancel your policy you get nothing.

And it will be a cancelation agianst you making your premuim rise.

I could be wrong though.

I'm insured by Admiral and they let me put my insurance on hold until I got my car back on the road again. This meant that i kept my no claims and could start it up again as soon as the car was back on the road.

You pay how much?! How much is a mk2 vr gonna be?!

Just ring your insurers. I'm sure they will know best :-)

thats alot to pay for a valver is it not i thought my insurance was bad at £240 trying to insure my 1.8t with 400bhp an all mods declared

Luke you pay how much for your valver?

Thats like over £3k if your saying you pay it over nine months...I'd honestly rather drive a 1.0 Polo and pay £2k+ less than pay that for a valver.

Anyway wouldn't it be easier just to switch your policy over to the Mk2, that way you keep the same policy (so can continue to earn no claims) and you will have achieved what you set out to do, stop the policy on the valver and run the Mk2.

at least hes legit. fair play to you mate.

With Adrian Flux you dont pay your last 2 months sch as if it runs out end of January the last month you pay is November.

You wont get no claims if you have 4 months left and cancel, I've just had to cancel mine 2 weeks from getting 3 years but only cost me £100 than it would of. oh and for 16v's at a young age i found Swiftcover cheapest....19, 2 years No claims TPF+T £1200. Flux wanted £2300!
